1. Hey Squeak I didn't know I was fishing, I did catch this baby last weekend before the huge storms. It when 30lbs, yeha!!! Release date is soon, not like the fish I caught Cheers Cookie
2. Hey Jason, The best way to mount UN quick shoe is to un-do the philips head screws and remove the base plate. Using the top part as a template drill the holes the same diameter as the screws then place the bottom plate inside the helmet and screw the quick shoe to through the helmet to the plate. Here is a teaser of a protoype QS we have built. Cookie www.cookiecomposites.com
3. New jump suit and canopy Ben!!!!! This can only mean one thing. A 8way training camp isn't to far away. What's the plan for the year?? Cookie
4. I suggest hot knifing of the strap, leaving the small d-ring attached to the camera. And with the plastic lanc cover you can remove it with a good sharp tug. Cheers Cookie www.cookiecomposites.com
5. I think that the PC1000 has the No1 ranking for all round size, weight and performance. Then the HC42. based on price and bang for buck etc. The new HC46 is incredibly compact in size. Smaller in height than the PC109. If you like cameye's you will be dissapointed as there is no lanc port. In Australia they have stopped dhipping the PC1000 here so they are starting to get like hen's teeth. The PC100,110 and 120 are two big for my liking but do have good picture quality. Actually dont forget the PC350 for good size and quality. They are the same size as the PC101/105 Cheers Cookie www.cookiecomposites.com
6. Our camera guy had a close call. We were doing a linked 3way compressed accordian exit out of a Caravan. The center guy was doing a head jam so he could pick up grips. Anyway long strory short he popped his rig getting into his slot and when we left his reserve was let loose The freebag fired straight into the camera guy and wrapped around his camera. A brief stuggle whilst flying on his back finally dislodged the free bag The video clearly show's the freebag and pilot chute trailing from his head. A valuable leason learned to all that day. Unfortunatly the same happen to a friend that kill him and sent the Caravan spirialling in. Do your self a favour. Cookie www.cookiecomposites.com
7. Hey Ben, It was a fantastic hard fought comp with your team. I thought we were going to get thrashed after the first five rounds. It was a shame that we didn't get to share a few beers after it was all done. I personally really feel for you guys after your year long efforts. You truelly have a great team with excellent abilities. Donot get discouraged!!!!!!! by the results. Learn from the experience and you guys will be a future force to be reckoned with next time around. How was Airtite's outward show of emotion towards our scratch 4way team. The skins score was 10 to 0 to them so I brought them a slab for good measure. I hope you heal well over the next month, this will give you guys time to get your future plans together. Stay Safe Cookie
8. Yes happy B'day, Blow a few candles out for me Cookie

12. The PC1000 is a great camera. I believe it was the older 3chip camera's that had some issues. Mine works fine. Cookie www.cookiecomposites.com
13. I had a revelation today!!!!! I was trying on some of our gear and checking it for comfort and fit etc. and I noticed that there is generally a lot of scalp movement whilst wearing a helmet. Maybe just on my head With out a helmet on you can put your hand on your head close to your forehead and move your scalp quite considerably ie. up to 1 inch of movement from front to back. So after putting my helmet on and mucking around for a bit in front of the mirror, I noticed that if I raised my eyebrows this scalp movement was considerably reduced. I tried this again without the helmet, using my hand and my raised eye browes did reduce this scalp movement. So put it to the test as I'm keen to hear your comments on this. It may be the case that most jumpers tend to have WIDE EYES whilst in freefall and that those guys freefall footage might be the most steady. Thoughts Anyone??? Cookie
14. When I get a chance I will post some frames from the PC1000. Definetly NO! fluttery issues. Cookie
15. Nice report SudsyFist, I remembered something also worth mentioning. I screwed one of our Liquid Lenses on the front of the PC1000 and found that the auto focus did not work with the lens. On closer inspection there is a tiny switch that protrudes into the thread section where you screw the lens. So when the wide angle is screw on it pushes this tiny switch towards the back of the thread assembly disabling the auto focus. The small wheel set for default manual focus does all the necessary focusing when the wide angle is fitted. Cheers Cookie www.cookiecomposites.com
16. Hey Bergen, I'm glad you like your Blackbox. Our aim when tooling up for our Blackboxes is to keep the box as close to the phsical size of the camera as possible. Doing this reduces the chance of your equipment snagging your helmet in a side mounted configuration. Unfortunately the camera's strap and cameye plug can add unnecessary width to the camerabox. These items will generally add 3/8 to 1/2" to the boxes dimensions if included. During the tooling process for our BB1000 (Sony PC1000) these issues were again discussed. I contacted Skytools the makers of Cameye and asked them about manufacturing a Cookiecomposites specific Lanc plug that would be smaller in size. Skytools are a great company to work with and tooling costs for such a design change is around the $2500USD mark. Stay tuned. As Squeak pointed out with our complete systems we do all the necessary drilling for you, which means a hole through the box and the helmet. We use a 16mm hole saw to do the job and finish it off with some fine grit sand paper to remove any sharp edges. For the guys who wish to top mount the box this hole size can be reduced for aesthetic reasons. Another tip for modding/customising your gear is to always measure twice and cut once. Cheers Cookie
17. Do you think it will fit with the strap removed?? With our Blackboxes, to keep the box as small as possible the strap must be removed for the box to accomodate the camera. All boxes would be 3/8"to 1/2" bigger if we made them to accomodate the camera with the wrist strap intact. Cookie
18. The PC1000 rocks I built a mount for it and handed the helmet and camera to a mate who is running the camera pool at the Skysisters boogie. He has flown it in every oreintation and the picture quality is great. The day tape production team have taken a few picture grabs and compared them to all the other cameras being used ie. PC9 through to PC350 and cleary the image quality is better. A tip is to run the 4:3 format if your not viewing the image on wide screen. My personel rating Looks 8/10 we got a black one with chrome bits Features 8/10 Image quality vs camera size and weight 10/10 Cookie www.cookiecomposites.com
19. Yes the old Woomera hey. I have done about 20 CRW jumps using them. The reserve pud is attached to the bottom of the reserve pilot chute like a pull out, there is approx 3 feet of bridle and attached is a curved pin. I remember that the reserve pin was infact a straight pin that had been bent. The Aussie crew guys loved them because the main tray was designed similar to the racer in that it completly opened up and had velcro on the sides to keep it closed. A friend of mine Roy was doing a demo jump into a football stadium and his flag unfurled in freefall. He deployed his main which entangled with the flag. In a headown down attitude due to the main/flag entanglment he was able to strategically place his reserve pilot shute (Woomera) away from the trailing mess. In his words he said he suddenly found a hole and pitch his pilotchute into it. He had his reserve out at 600 but due to the stadium parralax error his wife who was doing ground crew thought he had gone in. Well enough of the stories. Make sure your Woomera 2 has had the main riser cover mods done. The reason for a modification is that the main riser cover tuck flaps have been known to have stuck closed on deployment. Talk to Barry Lewis if you have any questions.

22. Thanks Base801, I have mine coming, I should have it by friday so we can go test jumping on the weekend. Silly question here, just by looking at the image quality on a normal TV can you tell that it's a 3ccd or higher image camera. Keep you all in touch
23. Nice work Craig. If I buy one from you do I get the Crownie thrown in. Cookie
24. Hey Base 801, Did the PC1000 shine on the weekend or are you going to get send it back!!!! Cookie
25. PA's first rigs were a vector(Wonder Hog) copy, these were called a Pigmee. PA obtained the Talon rights for australia back in the late 80's as PA was already manufacturing the pigme as well as the airforce reserve, Viper and X228/300 canopies. The Aussie won a gold medal in 8way speed crew on the x228's Zipper who owns PA and Poo Smith ( Ex Australian 8/4way guys) modify the Talon in the early 90's. This change flowed through to RI. I believe that RI and PA work hard together on there innovative designs. I was greatfully sponsored by PA from 1997 to 2000. I still have a my sponsored rigs in the cupboard and wont part with them for sentimental reasons. The Talon 3 and FS are excellent rigs, I didn't like the Voodoo much, I didn't really like the shape etc. But that my opinion. Unfortunately now due to other Team mates choices I jump a different rig. Sorry for detracting from the original thread, I hope I have shed some light Cookie
