My NCOES commandant (BNCOC) was a HALO jumper, so he saw no problem with me jumping off duty

The Army has made it clear to me that if I'm hurt skydiving (keeps me from my duties) that this hobby of mine is over as long as I'm on active duty. Sometimes I forget that soldiers are property not people.

I have the bonehead boomerang (full Face). Great all around helmet for both RW and freeflying.

First of all I had one hell of a slammer. My slider came down right on my head. At this time I was pretty much out of it. I pushed the slider up and it probably knocked the left toggle loose. The right toggle stayed stowed which put me into half brakes and a pretty fast spin towards earth. By the time I had my wits about me I was 1000ft off the ground and was sick and dizzy from all the spinning. So I made the decision to chop it. The main has no visible damage. I don't have a good excuse on why I didn't pull my reserve handle, so I won't waste your time on giving you a bad one. Thank God for RSL's, but from now on I won't depend on them 100% Thanks for the concern.

Had my first cutaway this past weekend (wow, what a rush). The only thing is that I got busted (lectured) by the DZO (reserve handle still intact-RSL). Morale of the story: PULL BOTH HANDLES NO MATTER WHAT!!!!!!! Every jump day, is a learning day. PS: Yes! Case of beer was purchased.

Nah, your not weird. I did a internship with the Alaska State Troopers (summer-95) and I saw alot of interesting and strange things. I've got a degree in CJ, and here I'm in the full-time reserves as Combat Medic, now tha't weird. PS-Lived in Irving for 3 years; that heat during the summer wiped me out.

Jumped with it the last two days. Loved it

Just purchased a BoneHead full face helmet (it's neither a boomerang nor Havoc). I believe it's a discontinued item (marked down from $210 to $100) The helmet is comfortable as hell as well as being light. The only thing is that it doesn't have is a breathing vent next to my mouth. Should I take it back and spend the money on a Z1 (or something else) or will this lack of a vent be that big of a deal????
