NO landing injury was EVER caused by a bad spot. A landing injury happens when jumpers fail to utilize all the area around them for landing. It really grates my goat whenever I see someone post landing injuries were the result of a bad spot. BS. I know this is a hypothetical you are discussing here. I just thought I'd bring that point up now. haha. what other answer to expect from a jumpship pilot. lol. namaste, motherfucker.

well.... umm, yeah. probably. yup, you are correct, watching your friends and loved ones die dont change the risks, what it does is refine ones perception of the risks involved. book learnin is of limited value in this sport. yes huh? i must have ditched that day in logic 101. i would never accuse ron of being smarter than anyone. lmao. see above, above, above and above because you are discussing skydiving with skydivers who have more experience than yourself. it would be irresponsible to ignore your assertion that skydiving is safe. i aint mad at ya and i dont think you are stupid. i just think that you dont know what you are talking about. namaste, motherfucker.

I represent that remark. No wait...... (reading my own posts) No, I don't. Why do so many people here tie jump numbers to opinion? OPINION. It seems to me that a fair number or "50jump" (sic) chumps participating in this discussion agree with you. Are you trying to insult anyone in particular? nope. it rhymes. kinda rolls offa the tongue. i wuznt calling anyone in particular anything. would 100 jump wonder have sounded better? all same same. chump means thick. dense. thats all. one who believes that skydiving is a safe endeavor qualifies. IMO. i can appreciate your sensitivity to a percieved slight that partially describes you (50jumps) but don't let that fool ya. there was another qualifier: that think skydiving is safe. that's not you, is it? peace and chicken grease. namaste, motherfucker.

re:carted off.... this is for you math whizzes out there - i think it would be interesting to see some kind of graph that maps the quantity of injuries against the severity of said injuries for various sports and activities. from my perspective - mishaps in most all other activities result in relatively minor injuries - and lots of them. how often are we reading about one out of the 30,000 (?) active skydivers in the world (?) having severe or critical injuries? broken femurs or broken pelvis are potentially fatal injuries. and how many _dont_ we read about? grrr....... and to reiterate - funny how it's just the 50jump chumps that think jumping from an aircraft is safe. namaste, motherfucker.

you have got to be fucking kidding me. telling someone that they are stupid is a personal attack? sounds like an observation to me. perhaps we need to couch everything in an 'i feel you are' or an 'i find your behaviour to be that of a'. JHC WTF! i have felt that some 'moderators' are just way too excited about they 'job'. IMO they are given such permissions in the interest of preventing violence and abuse but seem compelled to interject they own politics and mores. grrrrr...... and just in case i get forked up the arse and drop off the face of the earth:tell my mom i love her. namaste, motherfucker.

the instructors video from one of my aff jumps shows him docking on me when it looked like i might not be getting ready to pull. i had just forgotten to wave off and beat him to the handle. he was on the ball and heads up. falling through the student hard deck with nothing out should be a big red flag and an should be seen as an open invitation to pull for said student. if an instructor is not capable of being within or getting to within arms reach of a student at all times, for whatever reason; experience, weight, size, etc, then that instructor should not be jumping with that student. that said; the primary and ultimate role of an aff instructor is to make sure a student gets a parachute over their head. any of the various arguments and defenses to the contrary that have been visited on these forums are merely bullshit semantic games. of course most students believe that the JM will pull if they get in trouble. the student does not know how to skydive. that is what the JM is getting paid to teach them. we all know this. otherwise there would be students bouncing all the time. rhetorical stupid question: who has ever seen a student miss a pull? who has ever seen a student lose altitude awareness? obvious and apparent answer: every aff instructor. and they pull the handles on those students. why? because it is thier job... to pull if necessary. namaste, motherfucker.
