OT..my older brother used to weigh over 300lbs and started weight watchers a little before july 4th. While we were celebrating the holiday i told him if he gets below 250lbs i'll buy him his 1st tandem. He fuckin' did it and his fiance and him are booked to jump at SDC on saturday. I'm so excited for the two of 'em, i can't wait to see their faces on the plane and after they land. I'm planning on doing 1 or 2. Went to alaska for 2 weeks in June. $$ Worked a horrible shift leaving me with Sun,mon and Tues off. Usually didn't wake up until 2pm or 3pm on Sunday and just didn't feel like going to the DZ. (worked till 1230 Sat night/Sun morn) Bought a townhouse w/ my girlfriend in Aug $$ Did my 1st jump in over a year on Sep 9th!! And am planning on going Wednesday for $16 jumps and hopefully my brother is going to jump on Saturday. He is doing weight watchers and has lost over 50lbs, i'm so proud of him I told him a tandem jump is paid for. All he has to do is show up, he actually came to the DZ with me last Friday and watched me bite my landing but also watched the tandems land nice and soft. There was this guy i went to high school with who was a grade higher then me. Our school hosted a trip to Canada and we met by going on said trip. About a year later i'm doing the family vacation w/ my parents, we took a road trip to Atlanta to visit my aunt and uncle and on the way back we stopped through pigeon forge, TN. I'm in an arcade and sure enough this guy was there playing video games, we hung out for the rest of the day and went on a bungee seat ride and a zip line. Fast foward to my 2nd or 3rd AFP jump at SDC and I hear my last name shouted from across the hanger. It was him and at the time he had about 75 jumps, people at SDC know him as Phat Matt. Another time I was at the DZ by myself and everyone was just sitting around the bon fire. I was enjoying my brew just taking the whole expierence in when this girl comes to meet me and gives me a huge hug. Being single at the time I'm thinking hell yeah, these girls are friendly and because of the fire i couldn't see this girls face. Turned out to be an old friend from high school german class. She did her 1st AFP jump the next day, landed in a tree and was lost for several hours. I wish she'd given it a 2nd chance but I haven't seen her in quite some time. Foo Fighters do rock, saw them at UIC pavillion. Alkaline Trio when they first started out, saw them at a small bowling alley which only did shows, no bowling, and now I guess its just a bowling alley again. I work 2nd shift (2pm-1230am) wednesday thru saturday (yup i get off work at 1230 sun morn) for a big telecommunications company. My supervisor sits on his personal line all day while looking at forums or talking to one of the other guys i work with hindering his ability to actually work. The other guy i work with sits on his forum or does the same, talks to my supervisor. Now I'm not saying i'm a saint and never scroll the forums, obviously i'm making this post at work. The point is to know when to work and know when to slack, we're not just an after hours for the call center but work phone equipment alarms too. When were busy i'm not online period.
