Well I've heard skydiving has a great clock stop effect.

Let me put it out there. I'm not calling out USPA because I'm not sure, but some of these record things are just jokes and money grabbing initiatives (in my opinion). When I broke a Guinness World Record (most people in Bollywood dance), we each had to pay I think $80 dollars if we wanted a certificate, that's like $15-20k for all of us, not to mention how these records are not well publicised, and people don't bother to compete (heard of most number of belly verticals in a wind tunnel, I have). If USPA treated these records seriously, I feel that they would have minimum standards. I'm sure plenty of whuffos have heard of HALO jumps from 30k or about people doing 10 skydives in a day. Anyway, someone should fill me in with how much it costs to apply for a USPA record, in case I'm wrong. In the meantime, I'm going to register for fastest timing for a 99m dash

You've never heard of green text?

Could I see some math? I serious doubt an A license and a 'good deal' rig is >$10,000 but yeah, it is expensive.

Thanks for your story -
Are you sure, being under a contract means they can ask you to do other things like merchandise counter or just random jobs if they don't think you're good enough to fly. Furthermore, this implies that as long as the staff throws a temper tantrum they can get basically get free FITP and freefly training. I'm not saying your information is wrong, but maybe there's a lot more that's not elaborated upon.

Thanks for your sharing. -
Let's do some math: 30 jumps = $1080 @ $36 each 8 nights stay = $120 @ $15 each So basically: Registration, 27 meals, shirt, DVD, raffle, entertainment cost you $400 How much are American boogies nowadays anyway?

I never knew you could get tickets for recruiting new jumpers It still exist?

Whuffo question: In the Liam case, what caused the canopy to spin?
-
Obviously you know the law much better than me. It may not be enforceable in court but can it be enforceable on the basis that the two of you agreed to it previously?
-
you should call your DZ and ask 200 jumps for a GoPro. There's various reasons from snag hazard to distraction (focusing on the shot and not the skydive) to loss of altitude awareness.

The last level I did was AFF3 lol I'm aware of the landing pattern, the last thing they told me is to be aware of the different altitudes as I'm following the TA cause I'm gonna land by myself soon -

Thanks potatoman, normiss and Yanni -
While I am not in a qualified position to advice you, I would strongly suggest you don't give up. Sure, you're not current, but it'll only get worse with time. Skydiving, especially with instructors, is quite safe. Your fear is just that, a fear. In this thread a student talks about his disappointment with his AFF and the community comes and supports him. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4597874;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread edit: Read this too http://www.reddit.com/r/SkyDiving/comments/1pg601/to_someone_who_is_new_to_skydiving_and_wants_to/cd1zij4
