I say road trip!!! Head east through Ohio (u know the state). Go to the NE VA dzs, up through NY, NY & such. Or there's about 4 around Atlanta. I'm trying to see if there'll be enough $ after moving to go to Chicks Rock @ Elsinore... could check into a tour of the south west. hey, if you have time to blow.. you could help Heather & I move into the apt in Houston (jk). Got it here in Chicago too! Finally had a beautiful day for jumping Saturday..... BSBD. But bad weather Fri & Sunday... now it's perfect weather here & I'm stuck in a highrise w/o working windows. Trying to work it so i can be "sick" Wed if weather permits, since summer seems to finally be settling in; after wearing a jacket for over 8 months... we're due some sunshine & warmth. Thank you for posting that Chris... Only met Roger a few times in the past year, but he was never anything but wonderful. He new I was a loyal Chicagoland jumper, but welcomed me w/ open arms each visit to SDC. His spread the love ideology, is utlimately the way to live, on & off the dz. Once you get to know more & more people... they tell you to say hi to more & more people @ each dz you visit... the family just grows expodentially - it's amazing & wonderful 85 jumps @ 11 dzs visited (not jumped) 3 others. Holy cow!! It's my story almost exactly. But I moved from FL to Chicago for College & got stuck here. Went through groups of friends every year, never really fitting in. Came out to do a tandem & saw the people in the hanger "fiddlefucking" around & thought "I belong here, this is were I belong". I grew up the first time on the beaches of FL & now I'm regressing into the same HAPPY, life loving, joking girl I use to be on the dz planes of Chicagoland. Life really is great here & in this world. I don't get along so well w/ my blood family... but this skydiving family is so much more wonderful, close, forgiving, sharing, loving & honest AND it extends accross the world. After wasting 8 years being unhappy in the metropolitan way of life... I've found my "home" & I am truly happy now. There is no can't. Only lack of knowledge or fear. Only you can fix your fear. The first two are the real reasons we drink after sunset. It has nothing to do with FAA/FARs/BSRs - the beer is just better in the dark. actually, there are no rules about drinking during the day, it's up to the individual dz - the rule is that you can not appear to be intoxicated & skydive - this per my dzo. or just drink faster in the daylight There is no can't. Prob couldn't sell them, cause people that have them have enough & people that don't have em prob don't want em. If you store them in a jar somewhere, just don't forget where you put em. Sorry for your loss... hope you are doing ok. guess jumping depends on how close you were w/ your grandfather & what the best way is for you to handle your greif. Sounds very exciting. But I totally get the "not sure about hangin thing". Just getting into that position could be scary - but I'm sure the view & thrill are 100% worth it. If you were in school w/ them... they're about as old as you are. I know summer school was way less about school than about socializing. I do not condone drunk driving at all!!! It is dangerous to everyone. But I am curious if a passenger can have a drink. Also, in IL you can't get a drink "togo" from a restaurant; but they were more than willing to do it in TX... I'm wondering where the line of the law is. Good info to have - I kinda thought that would be the actual rule... that the "passenger" is drinking. It's still pretty cool. I know a bunch of people here let their passengers drink, I hate to say no when I'm driving... but really don't need the ticket. There is no can't. Only lack of knowledge or fear. Serious question... Is it TRULY legal to drink an alcoholic beverage while driving in Texas? Or is it legal for the passengers to drink? I've visited a few times & had the remainder of the last Margarita put into togo cups. But now I'm moving there & this is valuable information!! There is no can't. Only lack of knowledge or fear.
