It's funny when you think of all the metal in the air free falling. I shattered my finger on AFF L 2 landing - a plate & 4 screws latter, didn't even consider quitting. My Dr., my family, friends & wuffo now ex-boyfriend all asked if that was it, was I done. My answer - done? done w/ what? A great friend of mine that was recently injured said she's going to be all banged/broken up "by the time she's done" I said "done w/ what", "with skydiving" she said!! In my head, I thought, done w/ skydiving?!?! It hadn't even entered my mind to think of being done. Guess I figure that just as I'll have to work till I die (cause skydiving's eating all my savings), I'll skydive as long as I'm able as well. It' like being done w/ breathing or eating or sex... can't live very happily w/o any of those & don't want to consider it. There is no can't. Only lack of knowledge or fear. Met so many dz.commers, but my sad sad short term memory kicked in & all of a sudden I was shy - pooh. So I went & hid out in my dz's tent (Chicagoland was running the AFF tent). It's still odd for me to mix reality w/ the internet. Got to do a sit dive w/ Sunshine, yahoo - found someone else that falls as fast as I do. Sad about her finger though. Was super smoochey w/ my s/o but still failed to 'define the relationship' - but that's ok. It's all good Rantoul def did not suck!! But my liver is still very very upset w/ me. There is no can't. DAMN!!: 2: Don'k know prob about 10. GREAT WEEKEND!! LOVE tents!! met sooooo many new people, I'm completely overwhelmed. cause I had to work today & drive back to WFFC tonight (4 hrs driving for 8 hrs work) : only 2 jumps @ WFFC, so far :one was a sit w/ a perfect transisiton, the other one w/as the Chicagoland 25 way & unlike FallingILweenie, I got to the formation... YAHOO!! 1st one over 9 people, 1st B 37, lots of other 1st I can't even think of. can't wait for the next 6 days - YAHOO!! There is no can't. Only lack of knowledge or fear. I'd have to agree... I only think of skydiving on days that end in 'y', when I'm awake or when I'm sleeping - blech, stupid country song... now that's stuck in my head. It's always on my mind, but certain things make me feel sick for not being @ the dz. A number of them were listed above. The other day a car stoped to let me cross the street - I thougth 'I should thank him' how would I do that? Why, of course by flashing him. Well luckly reason kicked in & I realized I was downtown in a suburb west of chicago (read CONSERVATIVE)... the poor driver went unthanked other whan a waive. Had to leave WFFC to work today & tomorrow, but I think I feel a 'cold' coming on & will not allow me to work tomorrow - YAHOO!! There is no can't. Only lack of knowledge or fear. Other than gaining about 50 lbs... I've always looked the same since I was 16. Then I had no prob getting into bars & such, now I get carded @ bars & for smokes... guess somewhere aroung 22 I actually looked my age. But looks peaking. Looks change & mature. who knows, perhaps they'll get better, sure hope my face doesn't start to sag though. Skydiving is a fountain of youth imo - keeping us all a bit younger one way or another. Yup, I only have 1 friend left that doesn't skydive, but she hangs out w/ skydivers really well. Finally got my dad & bro to do tandems. Bro said "now I see why you talk about it all the time" Dad's been to the dz a few times & says if he had more $$ & time he'd get into the sport. Yup, yup... when I was having a potential prob w/ the person that sold me my gear - Tim PM'd me in like 2 seconds offering his help. I think in general people inherently want to help, but in this community people actually do help - people here ROCK!! (typically anyway ) There is no can't. Only lack of knowledge or fear. Don't feel so bad... I was thinkin' the same thing! I had no idea the numbers would look like that, most people have had under 10 parteners? That's a shocker to me! Started very early, wouldn't say it's a good thing... but, everything happens 4 a reason., that's what I tell myself anyhow. At least I know what I like. Angela.
