It's rather hard for me to look over the big ass student gear, and it causes me to dip a shoulder a bit. I just pull, wait for the snatch from the PC, and count to 4. If nothing happens, I'll go silver

That's basically how I understood the patent. I'm just wondering...why go through all the trouble of designing a high tech timer to activate the reserve, when the cypres concept is proven to work perfectly fine, and is soooo much simpler. I'm a firm believer in KISS - Keep It Simple Stupid. I don't doubt that this process will prove to work just fine, but what's the point of making things so difficult? Instead of calculating 2 variables (speed and altitude) it's calculating 4 variables (speed, altitude, time passed, and time left). Unless the CYPRES patent makes it illegal to use 2 variable system, I would think the Vigil concept is just a waste of battery power.

I feel the same way. If all I ever did was Freefly, then decided to some hybrid jump, where I'm doing a little freefly, a little rw or whatever, would the aad flip out and fire???

I'm lucky I don't really have to deal with it. My mom and I both did skydives on the same day, and both continued. She stopped for lack of funding, but encourages me and will occasionally buy me a jump. My dad accepts that I skydive and doesn't try to talk me out of it. I kinda think he's trying to pretend I don't jump out of planes. But that's alright, I can live with it.

Yes with a throw out, you grab a handle that is attached to the apex of the Pilot Chute, so you are actually throwing the pilot chute into the airstream. When the Pilot Chute inflates, it pulls the closing pin attached to the bridal allowing the parachute to be pulled out of the container by the remaining length of bridal.

I just call a black person black, white, white. I don't see the big deal. I'm not sure why people pushed to call blacks "African Americans". I don't complain when people call me white instead of "German American". We're all americans over here.
