It is my understanding that only skydive long island in calverton is the only DZ that'll let ya jump...the other DZ is purely tandem only. Ive never jumped there, but I have heard some good things from those that do... Where about are you going to be on LI? And for how long? If you get a chance i would highly suggest getting up to the ranch...its a little bit of a drive, but very well worth it! *daizey*

I took my first trip to Florida this past February...in addition to staying at Zhills for a long weekend and going to the tunnel, I got a surprise when I was told we were going to Disney! Now theres one thing you have to know about me....I'm obsessed with Mickey Mouse...absolutely adore him...so when i got to Disney I was in heaven! You can ask jumpergirl...i was like a 4 year old, running everywhere...and when i actually got to meet Mickey, I got even more giddy haha...the funny thing was Mickey was taller than me! (see the attatched picture) If your looking for recommendations on rides, definitely hit the rockin rollercoaster...its in MGM...and while your there make sure you go to the tower or terror too!! As for the magic kingdom...space mountain of course (although it was broken down when i was there), big thunder railroad, splash mountain, pirates of the carribbean, the haunted mansion....they all rock!! When in the magic kingdom you also HAVE to go to Mickeys Phillhar Magic...its a 3-D show thats absolutely amazing!! Its worth any wait (and the line looks long but it moves really fast) Also, the night parade and fireworks are amazing! If you can get to Epcot check that out too...i haven't been there, but my brother has and said its pretty cool!! Ohh your gonna have so much fun! I can't wait to go back there! Can I hide in your suitcase *daizey*

Very funny Landings are getting much better haha. Im loving the canopy...I almost stood up my first landing on it this weekend too...until i fell over *daizey*

2:2:1 2 dropzones visited on Sunday (and a whole lotta miles put on my car!) 2 hop and pops from 5,500 -which i was lucky to get, at the dz i was at earlier, clouds were at 3,000 and wind was gusting to 28 1 case of beer owed for my first time back jumping at the ranch with my new rig

I'm up...can't sleep whatsoever. My back hurts....thought it was cause of my mattress...so i flipped it....youd think that would make me tired, but nope...and it didn't help my back either...so I played with my new rig a bit....i even put it on in front of a full length mirror to see how it looked...still not tired...i played solitare....got bored and stopped...changed my sheets on my bed...my mom yelled at me for waking her up...ooops...my cat keeps looking at me like im insane....im beginning to think hes right... I have to be up for work in 4 hours....then after 8 hours of work, im getting in the car and driving 3 1/2 hours to go to a dz for the night...i could really use this sleep right now... im currently laying in bed, watching some cartoons, and couting the holes in this one tile on my ceiling.... Maybe i should start counting sheep again... *daizey*

It is cheap, yes, and they are pretty much up and running all day during the summers. Lots of people around-specially on the weekend. Big variety of skill levels, RW, and freeflyers...I happen to love the ranch. Its where i started jumping, its where i spent a lot of time when I was grounded, and its where Ill be this summer....but i dont think its the absolute cheapest around... Doesn't Lodi have either $13 or $15 jump tickets? And I know Cross Keys has $13 Wednesdays and i think $17 every other day...and also according to this post skydive houston is having $15 jumps all summer from the otter... *daizey*

You're almost right about the ranch....its $16.50/jump if your a club member, $18.50 for non club members...and they have 3 super otters for the summer.... *daizey*

Some hotel information here But camping there is always lots of fun too! *daizey*

Come visit me! haha It'll be so much fun...the ranch really does rock and from what ive heard their 4th of July boogies are always pretty cool....besides...you know you love NY....you know ya miss this area And the ranch is where everything started for ya isn't it?? How fun would it be to jump there now! *daizey*

Have you tried doing toe taps? My leg awareness was so horrible at first...my legs would be everywhere....also, one leg was dropping lower than the other causing me to spin...my instructor suggested doing toe tap...they helped so much! Definitely increased my leg awareness, kept my legs and feet level with one another and helped me to stay much more stable... Also, I have the same problem with getting into a dive at first when i go to track. I have been told its because im not de-arching and that staying in a complete arch will cause ya to dive....and it seems to be true...once i loosen up and roll my shoulder a bit more forward, i come right out of the dive.... *daizey*

My DZ offers a "cash discount" as well....this goes for everything... tandems, and first jump course (including ground school, and 1 tandem and an IAD) are $10 cheaper if you pay in cash.. aff is $6 cheaper Video/Stills are $5 cheaper IAD's are $4 cheaper jump tickets are $1 cheaper *daizey*

OMG, too much driving.... 11 1/2 hours in the car, 5 hours of sleep, and 3 more hours of driving and I am FINALLY back....although I wish I were still back in Ohio I had SOO much fun this weekend. Finally getting to jump my new to me rig was awesome...all accept for that landing...although im feeling a bit better now (thanks again countryscrub ) Meeting everyone this weekend rocked! It was awesome finally getting to meet so many people I had been waiting so long to meet! I'd go into more detail, but im so tired right now I can hardly think...and i have to be in work in an hour and a half *daizey*
