  1. How many AAD fires so far? We got a pool going.
  2. yep I worked at baldwin as a packer for 7 summers and walked by it everyday.
  3. Here's the 4way teams. This is all I could find. http://www.skydivechicago.com/Events/2010USPANationals/CompetingTeams/4wayOpenTeams/tabid/228/Default.aspx
  4. SkydiveSpaceland.com is home to www.theratingscenter.com Houston is the 4 largest city in the US. Plenty to do, even Midget Wrestling. Beach near by gulf coast. Not the nicest but its a beach with surfing. The DZ is open every day but X-mas. Otter's, Skyvan, and Caravans.
  5. Skydive Spaceland set up the account to have the Brick dedicated to Dennis Anderson at the Skydiving Hall of Fame. Donations can be made through your account or by calling manifest.
  6. Maybe by them selfs/ I wouldn't freefly with someone jumping a dolphin.
  7. When ever you asked him about it his answer was always- "It was fun, but the pig didn't arch for shit."
  8. I'm sad to report, Dennis Anderson passed away this morning in a motorcycle accident. Dennis was a rigger, pilot, AFF-I, Tandem-I, and more. Dennis worked all over the country jumping, he will be missed by many. My thoughts go out to his wife, kids, and his family. We always called you old man but you left us way too soon. Peace Brother DQ
  9. I pay someone to pack my reserve, because I legally can't. Does that mean I don't know how my reserve works? You answered your own question on that one. I know people who pack for themselves that can't put together their own 3-rings. Folding nylon doesn't make you a mechanical engineer. No but not being able to correctly connect a 3ring makes you an idiot. My wife can't pack due to health/strength issues. But she's a hell of a good skydiver and knows how to handle emergencies. Does that make her less of a jumper? Does she know how it works and how things go together? If not then yes it makes her less of a jumper. You don't have to pack to understand how your gear works and/or is maintained.
  10. If it means they know how their shit works, then yes. I can make more than enough from tandumbs. I have no problem packing for teams or people who have put their time in the sport, aka old guys, but I think too many jumpers use packers as a luxury and have no idea what A,B,C,and D lines are, setting the nose, etc.
  11. Coming from a packer, I don't think enough people pack for them self enough or for that matter know how to pack.
  12. Ive got two mates from back home who will be here at the meet as well. Who told you it was a 79 anyway its a 71? :) Fuck 3 aussie's? Lock up the beer fridge.
  13. Also as an added danger, there have been a few gator's spotted in the pond!
  14. It seems like every summer there is a post like this. In the summer more people jump, so the more likely something will happen. This is skydiving, people get hurt and die.
  15. Spaceland is a little bit of a drive from Wichita Falls, TX, like 7 hrs. I think on of the Dallas area dz's would be closer, skydive dallas or skydive 35, Skydive Dallas is like 2hrs and Skydive 35 is like 3 hrs.
  16. Smaller ponds or ditches are usually tarp'd. Spacelands the one in the photo I posted above has two fountains that keep the water clean.
  17. Jon Quist was my Dad. I'm jumping now down in texas. This next Feb. 2011 will be 20 years since the accident. I always wanted to hold a little boogie in Osceola. Maybe this next year?
  18. Where both cases Cessna's or Otters or Other.
  19. Sorry it has been a busy weekend and not everyone goes straight to dz.com when an accident happens. Visiting jumper from Waller. From what I gather she got too low on her downwind leg and didn't want to make low turn back into the wind. She had a downwind landing in to the berm on the northeast property line. Winds were light and variable. I heard she broke her femur.
