  1. AW we'll miss you... Who's gonna yell "Wheeeeeee!!" while we all flip outa the skyvan then?
  2. RWS has a new lightweight monkeyfist handle that I've been using since winter with my wingsuit (and on all my jumps). I love it
  3. Just got my PFI and I was gonna ask the same thing- could we have a "wingsuit instructor" box since i know a few who would flame me for mis-representing myself if i check the BMI box?
  4. Count me and Luminous in. Ordered my demo suits yesterday!!
  5. LOL I still don't have the classic! Just the GTi, now in need of some repairs due to smoke dammage Hoping to demo a vampire and anything else new i can get myself into!! ...and Luminous was on the 26 way in z-hills too
  6. I'll be heading down early Wednesday or Thursday now that I have nothing like work to keep me occupied during the week. Anyone need a ride from either airport to the boogie? It's on my way!
  7. I have worn 6-10 lbs of weight occasionally when jumping my gti with students in classics. It doesn't change the flight much from what I can tell, but it makes me use my wings a bit more and demonstrate better body position. It also makes the suit fit quite a bit tighter when i'm not wearing my winter clothes edited to add: it's much easier to fly with a weight vest than a belt (all I have is a belt for RW)
  8. 5'12" and 150lbs, took me months to find a container to fit and I gave up and ordered custom rw and wingsuits!
  9. Yay! can't wait to try the vampire!! i'm so jealous of all those that didn't have rig difficulties and got to fly them at Z flock n dock.
  10. I voted "when i roll in the mud" but until recently that was most every week. I've been pretty rough on my bev suit over the last 3 years; my landings were not always graceful and I've been covered in mud/grass/blackberry stains more often than i can count. Washing it in cold and hang drying almost every week hasn't hurt it a bit! (If you look close you will see just the polly/cotton navy on the legs faded just a little.)
  11. So will there be any cool new demos to fit 6 foot tall and skinny (or not so...) birds or am i gonna have to beg for a 50% off and wait for a custom one to try the fun stuff??
  12. Skydive Houston this Saturday 7:30pm
  13. Got my tongue pierced made it so i couldn't smoke w/o doing the listerine rinse (eww!) and gave me something to play with More than 3 years since the last time i quit!!
  14. Wahoo! I haven't unhooked my wings in weeks!! (BUMP)
  15. Luminous has my classic now :)
  16. Where's the vote for "I did them, but haven't yet written the check or mailed it"? Didn't make enough on paper to have to file with the feds, but I owe PA/Philly for some unemployment I collected early last year!! And I thought NY taxes were bad!! Most years I get a refund, so I normally file in February to get my $$ sooner
  17. I'm going for sure now, and of course luminous will be with me! We'll both be sporting our birdie suits.
  18. Just got word from SCARRYPERRY that he'll be there, I'm also planning on heading south that weekend. Any other wingsuiters planning to come play?
  19. You've been having some interesting run ins with animals lately!!
  20. Seems to be a ping pong ball or hard foam?
  21. I'm going to stick with this monkey fist- I usually jump in gloves and I like the grip it gives me. Longer bridal- old one was 6', new one 9' Lighter weight- old pc had standard semi-heavy hacky, new pc had lightweight monkeyfist (weighs slightly more than orange pvc, but less than anything else I've come across) I am going to look into having my rigger move it's attachment points out a bit wider in the hopes of making this less likely in the future. It was a very tight fit to recreate the mal, and I don't think it will be a problem as long as I have positive aggressive pc throws
  22. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_view_flat;post=1503247;page=2;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;mh=25; I've posted the picture of my pc in tow/hacky mal in the thread above. Here's Saturday's last flock as seen from the ground!! I have a few more of us gearing up and playing skate and chug I'll post when I get time to shrink them
  23. Here's my pc in tow from Z-hills Flock&Dock. The handle tucked into the opening at the bottom of the mesh (see pic) and made it impossible to inflate. The pc was new 8-10 jumps ago; I changed out my old pc with 6' bridal and heavy hacky handle for this longer, lighter weight version. container: vector 3 main: sabre2 150 pc: 9' bridal 32" zp monkey fist handle from RWS reserve:raven-m 150 cypres Birdman GTi 82 wingsuit jumps since Aug. 2004 435 jumps since Oct. 2001 3rd reserve ride (only one caused by wingsuit) Of the 4 openings in the mesh part of the pc, only 2 are big enough for the handle to fit in. I always pack my pc the same, folding all the mesh inside, then folding in the bridal, then rolling it up from handle to edge. When I landed the pc was still cocked, pin still in place, main flap still closed, and bridal still tucked in more than 1/2 way to the boc. I think this was due to a lazy throw (first jump Sat. morning after Fri. jumping and bonfire) and made possible by my wingsuit burble and lower speed. I pulled both handles simultaneously @ 2k' and had a tangled mess of main pc and left reserve risers, but the reserve was open and flying. I unzipped armwings, carefully untangled pc from risers, undid booties, and unstowed my breaks by 1200'. Nice standup landing 100' away from runway 1/2 way along it from the main landing area.
  24. I will post about my 3rd reserve ride after I re-create the mess and take some pics of the p/c! Thanks Perry for loaning me your demo rig for a few jumps while they packed my reserve!!
