it is a safire platform but made with sail cloth and a hybrid nose to assist in GL inflation. if i were you i would get a safire and jump, or GL it. fyi - my advice to anyone wanting to GL would be to take the plunge. the difference between a daedelus canopy and a skydiving one is over the top. skydiving canopies are designed to have the nose almost fold back a little for the opening sequence causing many issues with forward inflations. having a GLS or GLX means when the winds are nothing, you are the happiest guy on the planet.

i am glad that the pacific NW league takes advantage of 5 dropzones across 2 states. the cpc isn't just about a league but about competing on different turfs like you would if you were competing at pro competitions. making 270's at your dropzone and hitting the gates is easier than showing up somewhere and having to adjust and be competitive.

you are misunderstanding my post. collision avoidance usually happens on opening therefore we should be using risers to turn the rest of the info on flare and flat turns is especially useful stuff for people to learn if they want to increase their survival odds in bad places down low. i was not saying this thread is useless, in fact i preach this. just saying posting johnny utahs collision avoidance ideas are.

i do not think this belongs as information for skydives. in fact with the altitude that we have and the fact that nobody in skydiving has big grab toggles a riser is the best collison avoidance in my opinion.

^ i don't get it makes no sense. there is no shortage of guys wanting to compete in swooping, especially because you can earn $$. only shortage is lack of talent in comparison to let's say 4 way due to the necessary commitment to learn how to do it.

having recently witnessed a low level wrap i think you would think nothing. you would prepare for impact, maybe. under 100' you will be under a couple seconds from impact.

anybody else notice this addition?

i think it is ridiculous to see anyone question this guy's choice. most of you may have met him but i am sure aren't intimate friends with him so who are you to say? the internet...dropzone.com... lol -
^ dude, the furthest drive is 7 hours and most will be 3-5 max.

keep in mnd with the crossfire that you will need to be smooth and deep on your toggle stroke. work on that. you can totally shut down a crossfire, don't put your feet down to early, it leads to a lot of excess running.

robap26 is quite a guy from that short paragraph. maybe anyone thinking themselves as a coach should take some things out of that. -
do you think peoples names should be mentioned? i wonder how many people make decisions about to jump or not jump with people based on previous accidents or mistakes.

^ good point. i think the answer to your question is evident now though. people may not hold back the information, but not many seem to encourage all types of flight no matter what canopy you fly or how much or little you swoop. i think you can be an expert canopy pilot and never swoop. -

HEre is my question. Who here thinks that rear riser flight is a waste of time unless you are trying to extend your swoop distance. -

chachi replied to CanuckInUSA's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
sorry, i hate this referring by clicking on someone. stop talking about people hooking and grabbing rears. NOT EVERYONE wants to be a swooper but should learn all flight characteristics of their canopy. including rear risers. -
Toggle grip for rear riser input

^ because some day they may need the skill? NOT EVERYONE wants to be a swooper. -

i think if he had of learned how his rears react while jumping his sabre2 150, then his pilot 132, then his odds of not breaking something on his stilletto 120, while landing off, into someone's back year would be much better.
