  1. Next, is to pull that PD 190 out of the closet and use it. Its been almost a year Marriage, new house, surgery........ Theres an ER nurse at one of the hospitals I frequent that was doing her graduation jump last week and hearing her talk about it has given me incentive to get back in the air...... ------------------------------------------ The Dude Abides. -
  2. Moved, but still work there. Bought a house in Pine Mountain, about 20 miles west of Frazier Park (top of the grapevine). Still close to all that stuff and NOT living in the cesspool that Bakersfield is ------------------------------------------ The Dude Abides. -
  3. Well, Mt. Pinos (thats PINOS) summit is 13 miles from my front door so I think I'll get some exploring in there for a start. This new house is surrounded by a gazillion miles of trails, so I can get lots of trail time in. Guy that went with us wants to jet ski to Catalina for the next adventure Im cool with the hiking thing myself. ------------------------------------------ The Dude Abides. -
  4. Nope, no summit, and no dissapointment Storms that came in a couple weeks ago left enough snow here and there to make certain times of day a little slick on some parts of the trail. We spent the first night at Trailhead camp at the Portal, hiked up to Outpost camp and spent the night. Plan was to summit the second day but we got to the cables and with slick icy boots, inexperience and an attitude of no hurries no worries, we figured we'd call that good for this trip. Went back to camp and spent a night listening to freight train sounding 80 mile per hour winds barreling down the trail route (we were sheltered at camp). Even with no summit this trip, it was a freegin awesome experience. I learned quite a bit about what really is necessary, and whats just unnecessary weight as far as gear. Tested my physical abilities and that shits good for the soul! Oh, and its "pack it in, pack it out", so I got to experience crappin in a bag It was great fun
  5. Got to the cables, frozen solid, no cramp-ons. That last corner where the cables were broken was far enough for me. 3 nights on the mountain, what an experience!! Gonna do it a little earlier next year dropdeded ------------------------------------------ The Dude Abides. -
