Should the USPA "Coach" rating be on our user full profile?
jeremyneas replied to jeremyneas's topic in The Bonfire
I vote, absolutely...yes. This is up and comming jumpers first instructional rating and should be added to the user profile. Most people are proud of their first "gateway" rating. There is space next to the old 'jumpmaster' box! J.Neas -
Rated on Strong, Eclipse, Vector, Sigma Eclipse defenately takes the award for turning my head into a pinball trying to check the drogue. With the frap deployed they aim for the cheek and neck. Tricky little bastards. J.Neas

Yeah it's been done, but they didn't fly to each other and have wonderful love making. They set up in the plane while the videographer watched on on front float. HOWWWW ROMANTIC!!!! Then they just rolled out. Picks of the one i just described are all over the net, if you search enough you'll find um. I'm positive it's been tried before, just have to find the right people...the best place to look is a dropzone. J.Neas

Since my most common jump is a tandem, I would be very interested in a Tandem Forum. J.Neas

Bravo to anyone who knows of the McLaren F1. Not the most popular car in the world, but when i get that spare $960,000 it's all mine!!! J.Neas

An easy way to remember your "pre-jump" check is the system of "3 of 3's" While someone is giving you a final pin check. check both THREE ring circus's for routing check all THREE harness straps for proper routing (chest and both leg) check all THREE handles to make sure they are in place. quick, easy, and a snap to remember! Put a Vector drogue on a Strong rig and you'll get the trap door of your life, nothing else compares. J.Neas

Frap Hats More Dangerous Than Going Without A Helmet??
jeremyneas replied to slotperfect's topic in Safety and Training
This is so stupid, take all he experts you want. If i take the base of my palm and 'punch' the side of my head it fuckin hurts...if i do it with a frap on i barely feel it. Case closed. J.Neas -
Frapper, because of the ultra style points i get with the female customers!!!! J.Neas

If you really want a rush, try Venum...it's cheap and you'll know why it's called that when it hits the back of your mouth. J.Neas

So it's the end of a long day, I have to drive home and I need a pick-me-up. The Red Bulls have all been sold, but Go Fast came to the DZ last week and covered the DZ in festive Go Fast stuff. This also included a Go Fast Fridge filled with Go Fast Energy drinks. So I buy two and off I go. Well low and behold, I almost fall asleep at the wheel a couple of times driving home. I'm smacking the back of my head, windows down in the rain, music cranked all to keep me from nodding off. I pull in a gas station and grab a Red Bull and down it and I'm pinging the rest of the way home. Happy days. I'd like to support Go Fast as well as Red Bull because they both support skydiving in one shape or another. But what the hell is up with their "energy" drink!!!???!!! J.Neas

High Altitude Tandems For First-Timers
jeremyneas replied to slotperfect's topic in Safety and Training
At Mile-Hi Skydiving Center we take our tandems to 17,500 MSL (12,500 AGL). So: 1) Yes it is common practice here. 2) The O2 hose is readially available, and easy to access, but most do not need it. 3) No physiological stress, save from making their first jump. I personally have never felt the need, even when performing up to 12 tandems a day here. Then again, i functioned fully at 28,000' in the chamber for over 9 minutes before someone made me put my mask on. So either I am acclimated enough, or there isn't much up there needing to be worked ;) J.Neas -
Jeremy Santos will probably be there also...i'm game, that'll be funny. Anotha Jeremy

I agree, the coach rating is a USPA rating and should be included. It is also an instructors very first rating and they are proud of it. Also, under disiplines, first and/or second choices could be 'instructor AFF; S/L; Coach; tandem;..." I have more tandem jumps than any other, so it could be my perferred disipline. Time to update, J.Neas

other people's views on coach jumps
jeremyneas replied to aero04's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Since I rape the DZ all day of Money and Jumps, if i'm not too beat up at the end of the day, I give out free coach jumps. If the student gets my slot, or doesn't i don't really care. I was there once so i know what it means to jump without power in your apartment. As an experienced instructor this is a way i give it back to the skydiving community, but newly rated coaches have to eat too, so don't be too hard on them if they do charge a buck or two, they are getting you signed off on your A card, be curtious and bounce one back to them. J.Neas --oh and when i refer to 'coach' i am refering to USPA rated coaches. -
Ever jumped in a foreign country ??
jeremyneas replied to lazyfrog's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Japan (Tokyo Skydiving Club, Skydiving Japan) Pros: i'm thinking about it, the people are friendly if you get there on the one day a year you can see the horizon, you get an awsome view of Mt. Fugi! You usually get a decent view of Northern Tokyo Cons: Expensive (65 a jump) No seatbelts or door on jump plane (caravan) No indoor packing, mats are usually muddy Weather is crappy MOST of the time. Hard to get on a load on the weekends J.Neas -
RE: Oxygen Full-face helmets - Quality? Experiences?
jeremyneas replied to VanillaSkyGirl's topic in Gear and Rigging
Only the Oxygn A3 has outside mounting for the audible, the Oxygns do not. If you do get antsy about the audible falling off though. Just put a standard rubber band through the keeper when your mounting it (the keeper) on the helmet. Personally the only problem i've had with the A3 is shutting the visor. Sometimes it can jam up the sides not allowing you to close it. Personally again, I like the A3 over all the other full face helmets because it looks the sharpest (to me). J.Neas -
"Skydive!" Came out for the PC around 1999-2000 and was voted 'Worst Game of the Year' by PC Gamer Magazine, and Game Player Magazine. Also Voted "Worst Game bought by Jeremy Neas" by Jeremy Neas. J.Neas

keep these other 2 pts in mind that will help you. 1) they climb VERY fast 2) the fire is HOT, make sure you wear a glove to hold the back of your neck. J.Neas

Well, I don't think that Bill Booth came up with that "Rule" as anything hard and fast, but rather as more of a joke. Kind of a Murphy's Law sort of thing Thank you quade, i'm glad someone got it. J.Neas

You can increase your chances of having a malfunction by doing: 1) Jumping a highly loaded, higher performing wing 2) Doing CReW 3) Pulling Low (Booth Law #1) 4) Packing like shit 5) Pulling Unstable (if someone else packed your rig this is ALWAYS the case according to them) 6) Right before you jump say to the guy next to you "This thing always opens like a dream!" 7) Jumping something with the letter 'X' before the serial number 0000. I'm sure we can think of others!!! J.Neas
