Halliburton gets money from Clinton and Obama via a secret funding path put in place by Cheney - they feed it back to government unions and the education lobby so big Pharm can raise prices on Reagan's heart medicine. true story ... 5. OK - the whole post pretty much summarizes (analogy) the climate change topic to me. And the line between useful and bullshit that we agree on - applies to the topic also. ... 6. Hey, a hurricane is coming, it's dangerous. You might consider boarding up your windows and leaving the area for a week. Seriously, you shouldn't just ignore it and sit on the patio...... Also, we can eliminate hurricanes if you just buy "X" brand of sodas. In fact, we're setting up laws to require you to buy that brand. AND we'll label you awkwardly so you don't fight it, but if you do, we'll also socially persecute you if you continue to buy Pepsi, or even complain about your choice being taken away. Further, the government will be setting up a tax exchange program that we claim will reduce hurricane severity - you'll need to contribute your daughter's education fund the first year without complaint. Note - all of congress and most hollywood elite are exempt, and although 30 other countries are violently verbal in chastizing us for not having done it already, those countries, in fact, aren't doing a damn thing along those lines - they are, however, mocking us for going forward with it and hope to get some of the money from the 529 plan you forfeited. ^^^^ tell me, from the above, where did it cross the line from helpful and useful, to just economic and political bullshit? ... I know it very well. It's those bears driving those little cars, right? SURPRISE!

I'm thinking this is a checkmate. Give up Rush - she's a bigot (on this topic) Someone in a (albeit even minor) power position choosing to pick and choose which laws to follow is despicable. (a more salient argument is to find out the extent and reaction to those in similar authority positions that issued licenses to gay couples in areas where it was illegal at the time and state equivalency) ... 12. yet you seem to enjoy Speaker's Corner?? (it's the basis for probably 95% of every single post here) puppy kicking is an art - you need to make inline contact to get them to rotate end over end - with their little tongues flapping in the wind. SURPRISE!

This ^ yet still - it would grant privileges to people that partner up that are not also granted to single people. Unequal treatment under the law. We are a nation of individuals. yet we try to create favoritism laws for people that want to partner up. it should not be the government's place to even be in this at all in today's world. It's not like we are trying to artificially get people to repopulate to push the wild frontier. ... 16. Marc - Did you read my correction? It really was a case of a comma instead of a period. again, my bad. in any case: everyone gets a different set of gifts there is nothing inherently wrong with acknowledging you are smart and people get all pissy about it..... an athlete can acknowledge he's good at running and throwing and not get people bent a musician can acknowledge they are good at performing your friend might be able to state "I'm good at fixing things". I wonder if someone gets bent if that happens. (I recognize that your issue was the appearance of singling people out (false and fixed) rather than a general statement vs the average population) ... 17. I rewrote that edit for clarity. It could have been misread to a pretty bad way. (I think you did, commas and grammar apparently are important, my bad. Take a re-read.) I'm good with your other comments in that post. Lots of us are. RStanley's post resonates with me, FWIW, as a good take on it. ... 18. Some people just cant help but to insult anyone they disagree with Why do suppose that is? Are you somehow smarter than all who disagree with you? Your post was interesting until you slipped into the gutter actually, that's a fair comment and I don't like it when the other guys do it too. So here's my impressions of the candidate and not the supporters (who will all have their own reasons - serious and shallow). The circus that surrounds this guy really puts me off my feed. That said, I find him to be very sensitive and vindictive with those that disagree with him - he has offered little other than reassurances on what he will do for foreign policy. He even acknowledges he knows little, but "Boy, will I learn it fast". Simply - He scares me on foreign policy. domestic, business, immigration, etc, not so bad - but he doesn't stand out except for the flamboyant delivery, not the content. In general, I get an ACA moment every time I hear him campaign - "I won't tell you how I'll lead, until you give me the job. But I'll be really good at it" I don't know what I'll get until I get it. I'm not comfy with that. I am very heartened that it has mobilized the anti-establishment sentiment (long overdue), I just wish we had a better poster boy for it. Edit: as for being smarter than others? I'll share my standardized testing scores if you like - it's somewhere near 99.9% (but it isn't about IQ, it's about being informed first). Shallow voters? Politics is DOMINATED by shallow, knee jerk, feel good responses - look at how ofter bumper stickers are quoted on otherwise decent social sites. Hell yes - I'm smarter than most of the public. But so is most everyone on these boards, including those that I disagree with, including you. We all have a big step up over the general populace. That has been asked and answered quite a bit, this is a decently smart crowd here. Did you know half of all the people out there are below average? ... 19. Local here. If the Vikings want to send to California to hire some demo team when we have quite a few experienced demo jumpers locally, then they got what they paid for. Winds were really goofy that day, probably not a great choice to go ahead with that demo at that time. However, if 4 guys want to do demos and make a go at it, more power to them. It's not easy to get into any more. This particular demo won't help the cause. ... 20. I'm predicting that none of {Trump, Fiorina, Carson} will get the nomination. here's the sad part - Tru/Fio/Car are all reaping a very strong national anti-establishment sentiment. Add to that the Big Brother/Apprentice/Survivor/Idol crowd that recognize Trump and give the vote to him for pretty much that reason alone (face recog). So the reps now have the following three groups eating up the percentages: Anti-establishment, hardcore establishment, the Churchies. We never convert the hardcores and the churchies - these guys are essentially the right wing version of the fanatical liberals. Now - The Anti-establishment faction would be GREAT, if it wasn't hijacked by the shallow and silly people that think Trump is a good idea. but it is...... That means any candidate that wants to do something OTHER than business as usual, is only getting crumbs. Walker, Paul, etc. Whether you agree with them or not, at least it would be a tangible change worth listening to. We can only hope Trump fades and one of the other two pick up the pace and we get an outsider. Or the dems field an outsider at some point and get rid of their 'biz as usual' field of 3. or we'll be reduced, once again, to an insider from each party, that is pretty much a choice between crappy thing 1 vs crappy thing 2......again did I mention.....again (Short version - Trump is sucking up any opportunity for the Reps to field something different than what we've been getting for such a long time. It would be fine, but he sucks) ... Driving is a one dimensional activity - a monkey can do it - being proud of your driving abilities is like being proud of being able to put on pants

Or whipped out a pencil and paper and draw a picture of a soldier holding a rifle. even scarier - he could have, GASP, lifted his hand and pointed one finger and exclaimed "BANG BANG" it's rough - thug life enough to get you expelled = enough to get cuffed we are doomed ...
