John - SERIOUSLY? I'd like to reference the newbies to search on discussion about freefall drift and exit order. Freefall drift should define exit order = typ fall rate (slowest to fastest) for fun jumpers on normal wind type days. Belly, then FF, then HIGH opening students (even there, you might put them out before freefly - the students might open low and thus drift right over the freeflyers - they won't thank you for that), tandems last. (Groups size within discipline groups doesn't matter a bit so big to small, small to big doesn't matter a whit. For that matter example, I'd rather go 10w, 2w, 8w rather than 10w, 8w, 2w for better safety/separation of the big groups.) Major deviations in planned pull height (such as tandems last) makes sense, but not for a general rule. Edit: this is for a TYPICAL wind day and jump run (into the wind, with uppers faster than base winds and those winds in the same directions). cross wind jump runs, shearing wind layers, etc change things.... ... If that makes sense. any jump where you are pushing on air and thinking about what that's doing makes you better at freefall I believe that if you are very good at discipline A to where you don't think much about it and you want to get better - you might be better served by going off and learning some brand new freefall discipline - learning new style B will likely make you better at old style A ... I only have 8 jumps, but I talked to Wingsuit, Inc, and they said I'm ready to jump their TURBO-X wingsuit right now. Now the local wingsuiters tell me I have to stop flipping on my back during deployment on my AFF Cat dives (I'm doing Cat D #3 tomorrow - fingers crossed), but I feel I'm ready now for advance wingsuits - freeflying - 100 ways - mantis position - and a Velo. In fact, I'm sure the wingsuit would help me stay stable and I could pass AFF faster. In mean, the company says I'm ready, and I have skills that my instructors just can't assess (obviously).
