they might want to consider renaming the event I saw "24 Hours of Lemons" pretty much without trying at all and my reading eyesight is still pretty good ... This is some very top notch advice from a top notch RW jumper. "top notch" my ass. If he was that good, why the heck would he even be posting here? I think he's a hack and just bored. People should try to get their advice from locals that know and care about them - not some social website. ... so you, personally, say here you didn't think this way with Bush. But you didn't get that from others? even here on this site? let alone in the media or just out there? Your note is just another example of "our kooks are rare and we aren't represented by them, but the other guys kooks are clearly the norm for the other party" - c'mon - your statement is exactly the root of the problem I don't see much difference in the commentary in the last 2 years vs the previous 8 except everyone switched sides of the field at halftime. Claiming that only one side of the field has anything to fix while the other side is pristine is just more of the same. ... that's a clarification that's worth it, JR, I'll repeat it: 1 - Tracking DIVES - stay off the jump run 2 - Tracking from breakoff - Track away from the people in your formation - don't worry about jumprun 3 - Tracking from big ways - do what the organizer tells you - always - if you don't like it, decline the bigway Note about the 2nd item....., rather teach proper exit separation so it's not an issue. But if it's a 2-way you're tracking from, it doesn't hurt to track perp to jump run if you both know it by the end of the dive and still track away from each other - but it still shouldn't matter if your DZ understands exit order and exit separation. But on breakoff - who should you be more scared of at breakoff - the guy that's currently 2 feet away, or the guys 500 feet away? ... 1 - the stated function of government is to ensure everybody's rights are fully protected and equal 2 - in practice - the results are some people get more rights at the expense of the rest of the people there's a subtle disconnect in there, methinks so are you surprised? ... clearly the individual was defective, while the laws and the weapon operated as written and designed - so I'd start with the individual and is there a way to id that person that doesn't restrict the rights of every non-loonie, and every harmless loonie as a result your blanket statement reflects a position that leads to a new law every time any law is broken which law are you talking about - the one that prohibits killing? or the ones that allowed the gun to be own by the guy? or the ones that don't commit a known loonie? or the ones that don't identify the loonie? Or the ones that restrict where he can take the gun? or the ones that allow him to buy ammo? or the ones that regulate the construction of guns? or the ones the require law enforcement to patrol the area? or the ones that..... or should every time a crime occurs, we just add another similar law of each type - just to be safe which one is your personal bias focusing you on? then it's an easier discussion to progress ... +1 on your comment about the people at the 'rally' - what's up with that? that's a bigger sign of the real problem - narcissism on the people to the point that they are blindly loyal to 'something' to the point that it disregards the actual situations in front of them. It's such a sign of the lazy ignorance of the populace as a whole +1 on DanG's comments above too - though I don't think anyone is playing for zero sum - stalemate is nobody's goal ... I appreciate the sentiment of the comment also and hope it's sincere also and think it is this time. But it's still an event that should be about an evil kid who shot a lot of people and that there should be support for those people and their families, and, instead of talking about that, he's talking about partisanship and shitty discourse. ... How about ... "never track parallel to jump run". no - if you are in bigger than a 3 way, that's a crappy rule I knew there would be someone more experienced that would come and call me out on that one. So it was a setup all along was it? It seems that particular chestnut has been beat so much that it wouldn't be offered other than as a learning opportunity. Nicely played. ... I believe stating a 66% increase is a lot more sensational than stating a rise from 3% to 5% ... but it's more accurate than to say "taxes went up 2%," the measured understatement. I had that exact discussion with a school official about an education tax levy - they would only quote the fractional percent number and absolutely refused to provide the actual dollars change from before to after or the proportional increase of the school budget itself - after the question was asked 4 times over 3 days. And the fractional number was specifically quoted as part of the total property tax increase and they wouldn't separate out the non-school portion specifically (so the increase was diluted by including fire, admin, police portions) so we could actually see how many dollars MORE they were actually shooting for. they were slimy/slippery about it and kept trying to digress to the emotional justification ...
