Los Angeles police sparked a surprising sight when they led away real-life versions of cuddly Sesame Street Muppet Elmo and cartoon hero Mr Incredible. Impersonators of the well-known characters were arrested for allegedly harassing tourists for tips to pose for photos on Hollywood Boulevard. "With all of the crime in Los Angeles they pick on us?" said Donn Harper, 45, who impersonates Elmo. LAPD said it was cracking down on what it called "aggressive begging". Donn Harper, Mr Incredible impersonator Barry Stockton, 42, and Bill Stevens, 54, who impersonates the hooded 'Scream' character, claim they were arrested at gunpoint. "We were leaving to get something to eat," Mr Stockton told the Los Angeles Times. "We had our heads off and were walking about a block away to our car when they pulled up." "They jumped out of their cars with guns drawn," said Mr Harper, who says he makes up to $400 a day in tips. Warning meeting They claim they were handcuffed and taken by police car to the Hollywood Walk of Fame where they were then paraded in front of shocked tourists and other impersonators. Police said the trio had been charged with misdemeanour "aggressive begging" and were released on $100 bond each. The arrests followed a sting operation, with police officers posing as French tourists who did not understand English or the US culture of tipping. Tourists have reportedly complained that they have been harassed by the impersonators if they have failed to pay up after taking photos of them. The impersonators were summoned to a meeting by police last month at which they were told solicitation and harassment laws would be enforced. The LA Times reported that 68 impersonators, many in costume, turned up for the meeting. "Make no mistake about it - I want the characters to know what we're doing," said Los Angeles police officer Michael Shea. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/4376548.stm Oh the LA police. www.myspace.com/durtymac

I have been thinking about a couple of old stories told to me by friends about mad stuff going out of planes. I know we have raft jumps, car jumps, shopping trolley jumps etc, but what would be the weirdest thing to go out of a plane with? I heard of some skydivers taking a huge bag of oranges out over the Sea at the South African boogie. They cut it open once they got stable and let the oranges fly. Some went up, some went down and some just floated in the burble. I have been told that the vid is pretty cool too. I think it would be pretty cool to go out with a cow with 4 tubes. 1 tube on each leg would turn old daisy upside down and give a nice base in which to fly head down around. Of course Daisy wouldnt have a rig or be alive as that would be animal cruelty. Please excuse my warped sense of humor. Anyone ever took roadkill out?

That looks pretty cool. Love that superman in pic 3. Theres a load of Paragliding going on here in Auckland. A lot of people go off of Devenport Volcano and just sit there floating for hours looking at the view. Im almost tempted to have a go myself but worried that I may like it too much and end up buying a rig. You can pick them up here for as little as $1500 NZ www.myspace.com/durtymac

Someone I knew died when he hit a horse on a country lane at 2am. It was in Mid Wales where most of the roads have solid stone walls so he couldnt avoid it. He was going at about 80 mph in his little Ford van. The horse hit the front and somersaulted into the air and landed on the van's roof crushing him instantly. He wasnt found till 7am Attached are pics from A taxi Mercedes car which collided into two horses that were on the loose for unknown reasons. The horses died upon impact, the occupants of the taxi walked away with minor injuries. www.myspace.com/durtymac
