I'm sorry to hear you're leaving Amanda, but good luck to you in your future. I hope everything works out for the best and maybe we'll see ya again at Aggieland. Bluest of blue skies!!!

If it's any comfort, I have the same canopy. It probably takes me 20-25 minutes to pack. I don't care that I've just laid the cocooned canopy down on the ground when the packer next to me is folding up the pilot chute. I'd rather take a little longer, and make sure I packed correctly than speed through the pack job, pat myself on the back for my speed, then next jump be flying my reserve. Speed will come with time and more packjobs. Once you learn the little tricks that work with your canopy, the speed will increase.

Need some help here. My main is a Raider 220. For the last 10-15 jumps I've noticed a constant right turn. I had a rigger check it out, and sure enough, it is out trim. Can anyone tell me who I can send the canopy to to have it fixed since Glide Path isn't around anymore?

I had the same problem at first. Those students rigs just aren't the most comfortable rigs out there. When I jump with just shorts on, it still hurts like hell even with my own rig. I just wear my freefly pants over the shorts for jumps. Provides enough padding for under canopy. Hell, today I did a clear and pull from altitude and didn't have any discomfort.

Yep, I watched it too. I was laughing my ass off at the narraration. The student is doing his 3 PRP's, and they say he is scared and making sure his ripcord is still there. They froze a frame of footage when his mouth was open and they say look, he is terrified. Jeez...... That is one lucky student too, chopping at what? 200-300 feet or so?

Ever forgotten to activate your CYPRES?

Forgot it once. No big deal. It is simply a backup for my handles. -
Here's mine. No complaints. Hell of a step up from my last phone.

Very well said Dave. I was thinking something along those lines but I didn't want to put it out there. Anyway, BEAT THE HELL OUTTA TECH! Whoop!!

One that f#%king works on a regular basis. Seems like every week I've got a new problem with this damn computer.

No time like the present. Besides, you will need to know how to pack for your A license.

0:4:0 couple of fun jumps saturday and a close to sunset hop and pop to finish of the day. Fun jump with Aggiedave on sunday. Supposed to be FF but I just stayed on my belly.

Yes, I must admit I fell asleep once. I had the cruise control set at 70 and woke up to find myself driving half in the grass and half on the road. I was in the left lane of a two lane highway. I slowed a bit and tried to get back on the road and well, it was a fun ride when the truck spun 90 degrees to the right, then 270 degrees to the left and I ended up in the median between the road. That sure was an eye opener for me.

Caffeine. The wonder-drug. Sorta. If I don't get it, bad, horrible headaches. Must...have....Dr. Pepper. Yep, thats my fix.

I don't bring it up at all. I'm not one that has to let everyone know I do this or that, I just keep all that to myself. If skydiving (or something else) happens to come up, I'm like yea I skydive on the weekends. And thats it. If they ask anther question, I'll gladly answer it. But I don't just go off on skydiving. I'm sure no one wants to hear that. As for the original question of the thread, I agree with everyone else, the few females I've mentioned it to didn't seem to care. My skydiving was good for about 15 seconds of the conversation. Then on to other topics. edited bcause I stil can't spel.

Great movie. Cheesy as hell now, but still a great movie.

DAMMIT!!!!!!! I was so hoping my Astros would win the central. Nice to know the astros suffer from the same disorder other houston teams suffer from. The major symptom is finding a new way to flush the season (or a game) down the drain at the very end.

I set one up just before I started AFF. Seemed kinda pointless to me since I'm a 24 year old college student with absolutely nothing. But I thought it was a good idea nonetheless.

Wow, real classic rock. As in really old. Just kiddin, thats a pretty good list. Aerosmth and Skynyrd would be pretty sweet. As for newer stuff, well I don't listen to much of it. However, 3 doors down have some good music IMHO, of course.

No tattoos, absolutely no need for one. Don't smoke, never will. Piercings? I'm going out of this world with the same number of holes I came in with. Drink heavily? Alcohol is nasty. IMHO, of course. Give me a Dr. Pepper any day. No ectomorph here. I only have two food groups. Cheeseburgers and pizzas. Attitude?? What attitude?? Touched? Crazy? Nope. I'm as sane as anyone who is involved in a sport that used to be an emergency procedure... Non materialistic lifestyle? I'd have to agree. Live in the present. Absolutely. Live from jump to jump. Yep. Live at the drop zone? Nope. Live in a dorm. Pack in 10 minutes? HAHAHAHAHAAHAH I wish. After one packjob I'm ready to call it quits for the day and go home. Unending source of money? Trust me, my source of money most definitely has an ending. Nomadic lifestyle? Nope. Lived in Houston for 20 years and College Station, Tx for 3 years. Probably head back to Houston when this whole school shindig is over.

Why not? The door was open, I just happened to have a parachute, so why not??

0:1:0 awesome jump with Pablito. cool video too. Thanx again Pabs.

I jump a Raider 220. I have to very tightly roll the nose and shove into the packjob as far as I can to get a good opening. If I don't, I punished for my carelessness on deployment.

The best compliment I recieved was during my first engineering co-op during the summer of 2001. I was a sophmore at the time. The last day of my co-op I was saying my goodbye's to the other folks there, and I stopped at the cube of one of the old time engineers that worked there. This guy was one of the oldest engineers there, and well respected. While shaking my hand, he told me just keep on doing what your doing, and you'll be a fine engineer. He basically said he would be more than happy to have me as a member of his team in the future. Sure made me feel good to hear that.
