jeez, I did it for 5 minutes, never saw how they did it, called my roommate over, 2nd time he saw the solution. Guess those tests today just fried my brain. Fun game at first.

If there were a clock on Pioneer 10, how long would IT say it has been traveling? I know that the faster an object goes, time slows down (at least that's my concept of the theory of relativity). To leave the solar system, this thing must be cooking! So, does the spacecraft itself think it's only been up there 30 years? less than that? I'd be interested in some ejucaded responses. ------------------------------------------------------------ I'm certainly no physicist, but I've picked up some physics during my engineering curriculum. True time slows as you approach speed of light, but at the speed Pioneer is traveling, time is essentially constant. In other words, time has slowed such a tiny amount, if there was a person on board and they returned to earth they would not notice a difference. Pioneer is not moving anywhere near the speed of light, so the passage of time is relatively no quicker then here on earth. If I'm off base here, please let me know.

Good point Dave. =Getting into my philosophical chair= One of these days in the far future, I think we will conquer space. I don't mean endless cirlces of earth, or going back to the moon or going to mars, I mean outside of our soloar system. Like I said, FAR future. I think it would just awesome to get all of our space probes and bring them back to earth. =Hopping out of chair=

50 F. And even at that I don't really enjoy the skydive and being around the dz. I hate the cold. I'd rather have my fingernails torn off than stand around in the cold. Any colder than that I'd rather just stay home.

Yes, I agree. The truthfulness is irrelevant compared to the meaning. These are really great lessons. If everyone in the world would share these, we would live in a better place.

See if anyone can figure this one out. 2 people exit a cessna from what looked like below 2000. They stay connected all the way to the ground. Impact, no parachutes. I'm the first on the scene, only they aren't wearing parachutes, they are wearing scuba gear. Next weird thing is the DZ is not a DZ. It is in a field behind where I used to live. If anyone can tell me what this means wins the prize.

I now have permanent visual and auditory damage.

Started packing my own right before I got my A. Seems like when someone else packed it, it always slammed me on opening. I've been able to tame the openings (usually), so I pack it.

I've been using the same earplugs since jump #2 and never had a problem. But I did have the same worries at first. All I can guess is the earplugs aren't completely sealing off the ear canal allowing the pressure to equilize during freefall. But I really don't know.

I developed a bit of tinnitus after high school from loud music so I too must protect my hearing. I wear those foam plugs with the connecting string between them. That way it is tougher to lose one in case it falls out when I take my helmet off or whatever. They work great!

Ha, don't know about that. But I do need to get that newbie thing outta here!
