  1. Calm down dude. I'm not saying your baby is ugly. Our views are different. My view and concerns center around skydiving and skydivers talking to other skydivers. Your view is the success of a forum. Not mutually exclusive views but not a smooth fit either. I participate in several moderated professional groups. The difference here is your moderators are among the most active participants and a bit too emotionally involved.. I recently read some scathing personal attacks (by moderators) toward someone who posted a piece of drivel about the appropriateness of a dive you were on. I appreciate moderators who can separate their personal involvement and work for the good of the group. You have a few, however, who are working for their own benefit. That's the way it is, brother. Listen ...or not. Peace, Michael
  2. .com has a few moderators who have trouble separating the need for clear communication from their need to control. I'm guessing it will eventually be the downfall of DZ.com if Willem doesn't intervene. Michael
  3. Damn. People all worked up about a movie. Gives them something to do, I guess. Michael
  4. Some very interesting advice here. Adequate hydration, nutrition and sleep. OTC Pseudophed during the day and Benadryl at night. Regardless of what you do, it will all be over in about three days. Michael
  5. Men and women choose and desire partners that the social structure has conditioned them to choose and desire. It's that simple. The vast majority of men and women make 'choices' based on factors that reinforce and solidify their status and standing within the tribal collective. It's all pretty much dysfunctional on an individual basis but seems to work (apparently) on the larger societal scale Thus, our 'choices' are really no different than those made by humankind a few million years ago. For me, a woman with intelligence, humor, honor and integrity gets my full attention ...of course, it helps if she has a really nice ass. Men and women are not so different. If you really want additional insight into human motivation and behavior, take a look at the realationship history of the more ...ardent supporters of the 'women only' forum. Michael
  6. Yes, we do! Come on over and I'll show you big boy! Michael
  7. That's not fair, what if she is French? Don King in a leg lock???
  8. Same for me, one trip to South Africa, one to Sweden and two to USA - you could say I had a good year. I don't really think one should count the travel and accomodation costs as a skydiving related expense, if you weren't skydiving you would still take those holidays anyway. Will Sounds like you had a great year. My travel, however, was exclusively for skydiving, in support of the training and selection camps for the CRW record. It was a blast going to new DZ's (or ones I haven't been to in a couple of decades). Didn't buy any new gear as I was planning on hanging it up after the CRW record. I've reconsidered and now plan on jumping with THEM TOADS as long as I am able ...thus, I'm planning on buying new gear this year. :) Skies, Michael
  9. It's easy to find. Just get off on the Salida exit ;) Michael
  10. Over 20K but the last year was fairly exceptional and involved a lot of traveling. All in all ...money well spent. Michael
  11. Universal precautions have nothing to do with medical confidentiality ...and yes, universal precautions would mean that we wear protective gear against eachother at the DZ. The origin of universal precautions had only a little to do with preventing disease transmission. The main reasons they were implemented was to calm the mass hysteria and set a standard to protect employers from being sued by health care workers (we warned you to be careful, it's not our fault). Michael
  12. Minor blemish on an idyllic week. Kirk VanZandt and Lyn Hannah took turns shooting video for us. Man, were those some sweet dives. Mike Lewis and Kirk engineered challenging, multi-point dives that went sooo smoothly
  13. THEMTOADS are ...experienced. Those guys are a bunch of washed-up old alcoholics and drug addicts. You're both lucky to still be alive ! Next time, play it safe and suck a toad. Kevin K.
  14. He's not 'next'. He's the main attraction. The guy on one knee is just a professional fluffer.
  15. The authors must this know this. The question remains, then, what was their purpose in submitting the letter?
  16. The problem is real, the proposed solution will not address the problem but the authors will have a new horse to ride for a while. BSBD, Michael
  17. Flying to Pureto Rico in a couple of weeks and taking my flotation gear. I read the TSA web site and they prohibit "compressed gas cyllinders' as either carry on or checkin. Will the CO2 cartridge in my flotation gear be a problem? Michael
  18. CRWMike is in charge. This is true ...but Kevin is doing all the work. Contact him at kkeenan@atlantic.net
  19. Your calender of CRW events does not mention the CRW Boogie in Puerto Rico Feb 11-15 with Mike Lewis ogranizing.
  20. Gee, I don't know, Michael. As I WAS your packer in Lake Wales on the WR, I do seem to recall quite a few wet canopies in the mornings. I guess I learned to land that way from YOU, huh? Thanks for your defense and honesty Cheryl. I don't want to always land that way, but I did see many CRWdogs land on their toosh last November at the WR. Ummm...I'm not sure who you are asking to cuddle with here. But I'm not thinking you are Kevin's type. Kevin???? Why, Kevin is one of the cutest, most adorable and desirable TOADSUCKER in the group. At TOAD boogies there is always spirited competition to cuddle with him. In all seriousness, I started the slide in landing after rupturing my achilles tendon. I lost a fine but important sense of balance feedback on that leg. A simple mistep on a runout could really fuck it up. Thus my preferred landing technique is to ...s l i d e! Never got a bruise or abrasion (cordura butt and leg pads) They don't look pretty, but they sure are soft ...and I've walked away from every one of them for 7 years now. Michael
  21. Ploy!?! Ok, kid, don't say he didn't try and save you. Michael
  22. Perhaps I worded it poorly. I don't LAND on my rear. I hit my feet first, then just sort of go into a slide. As I said, not my ultimate goal, but trying to go in the right direction. It sure beats ending up on my face. Nina Now who in the hell would want to land like that? Michael
  23. Look at that, Kevin's wing is coming around all the way to the other side of the formation to pluck Nina right out of the formation! Hehehe. You are such a fucking asshole! So, do we need to arrange our own bedding next month ...or can we all just cuddle with you? Michael
