This is the way to man-up when you're convicted of murder!
crwmike replied to peacefuljeffrey's topic in Speakers Corner
Every death row inmate I've known (with one exception) had developed sometimes rather simple, sometimes elaborate justifications for their actions. I'm betting you would too. As Val mentioned, the option spending the rest of your life in a 5x8 box doesn't appeal to most. Michael -
Forwarded email from Mike Lewis: ------------------------------------------- Hey Everyone, The plan for Z-Hills next month is 3 groups. A 16-way, a 9-way and a 4-way group. Anyone wanting one-on-one instruction will need to cover the instructors jump. I have some new ideas and fun formations planned. There will be classroom type stuff as time and weather permit. New Report: Majority of Bush Supporters are as clueless as he is.
crwmike replied to skymiles's topic in Speakers Corner
I guess you guys are just in that superior, intellectual, elitist, upper class of people. The rest of us poor ole boys and girls must just have a hard enough time gathering enough sense to walk around every day. I guess over half of the voting population in the US is just "clueless." Yeah, that's logical thinking... Nah, it's just that many people are at a different place on the tribal evolutionary chain. Afraid and angry? The need to hurt and dominate is millions of years old in our history and remains a strong force. No doubt it had (has?) it's place in the survival of the tribe. Now, there isn't any doubt that is happening here. The question is, is it still a survival characteristic ...or one that leads to destruction? I honestly don't know. I know I choose not to live that way. I can't see the species surviving if we do not evolve past it. It worked well when the damage was limited to teeth and crude weapons. The damage potential is a bit more extensive now. I just know that there are many people who are resorting to what worked when the species was young. I think it's time as a people to grow past that. Peace on ya, Michael -
I wish I didn't know now what I didn's know then.

You might consider hydration. When migraine patients come into the ER, in addition to happy drugs we hook them up to an IV and hydrate with a couple liters of fluid. About the only time I get headaches is when I've been running around and not getting adequate fluid intake. Good Luck, Michael

As I sit here finishing up my shift in ICU, I read your comments and saw much I can relate to. I suspect many of us are pretty cool with issues of mortality. Dying, in and of itself doesn't bother me. Issues of morbidity however ...well, I'm looking around the room and looking at the patients, most on ventilators. One bright orange (jaundiced) from advanced liver failure (multi-year alcoholic). No fucking way am I going to allow myself to go that way. Unlike you, at my age, I'm keeping all my vices and will not whine and moan when ...something catches up with me. Richard Pryor once said (pre-incineration) "Being dead doesn't bother me. Getting dead scares the hell out of me. BSBD, Michael

So thats what it feels like to get kicked in the nuts three times in a row

Is that a cross-cultural feline homicide???? Michael -
I thought I just did. What? With 'I'm sorry but he made me do it'?

I feel the same way about what is happening here in the US. Michael

They didn't have cameras when I was a child. Michael

I don't think you said anything out of line at all, bro. However take responsibility for what you think, how you feel and what you say. This pretty much falls under the "you made me angry" rationalization. Michael

Really? Doesn't show.

Character is easy to read, if you learn the language.

What John Kerry did in his 20 years as a Senator
crwmike replied to tunaplanet's topic in Speakers Corner
Actually all of the facts I listed were acquired from factcheck.org. Some people actually do their own homework and not rely on garbage emails. Nice try, though. You do research, I'll grant you that, but you use the data like a drunk uses a lamp post ...for support rather than illumination. -
I'm just betting there was no psychological screening.

Dude, have you been paying any attention to what has happened to the land of the free????

Using my car analogy, just because you have a shady car salesman, does that give people the right to steal the cars there? Nope, I had that right from the get go. The crooked salesperson just makes it sweeter. Poor insurance companies. Michael

Yep, in the US, the cameras pretty much just monitor who we are talking to, what books we read, where we shop and what we buy. Michael

It wasn't. Was typical skydiving humor with a cute pic of Kevin wearing a barbie on his helmet. YMMV, Michael

Yes it's very easy to give lip service to this requirement. It's not only IT jobs, Registered Nurses are included also. Hospitals place a small ad in the paper, process some paper and claim they can't find nurses. These same 'health care' corporations spend mega dollars in third world countries for education and recruitment through shell corporations and bring nurses here by the boatload. They have a sweet deal set up and provide immigration law attorneys for the new employees as part of their benefits. Haven't seen nursing salaries increase one dime in many years, so, yes, these employees are cheaper. Additional bonus are the employer now holds the hearts and minds of their new employees. Lose your job (and your sponser), the law says "YOU MUST LEAVE THE COUNTRY IMMEDIATELY". The newest wrinkle in circumventing the "can't hire an American"is to set up a couple of nursing agencies and hire 'contract' nurses through these agencies. The foreign nurses must sign up with two agencies, they work their first 40 hrs a week with one agency, the rest with the second. For the past several years, the makeup of the nurses I work with is about 80-20 foreign nurses to American nurses with about half of those working 70-80 hours a week ...all on straight time. I routinely have shifts cancelled while foreign nurses are there working their 6th or 7th 12 hour shift for the week. So, take your bullshit about not being to hire American workers somewhere else. We both know how the game is played. Michael

Good point. Michael

As a young man, I always looked for the answer. As I got older, I learned the answer is almost always ..."All of the above". Michel

You planning on allowing her a voice in this? Michael Um, yeah. Believe it or not, her cooperation is required for any of the three options. Police get a report? Gotta be firsthand from her. Do the words "her fill it out" mean anything to you? Relax, son. My point was that men (young men, especially) tend to want to swoop in and rescue the maid in distress. She may or may not want to be rescued or cooperate with your plans. I know this goes against your lawyer training, but find out what's going on before stepping in. ;) What to do? Talk to her and find out what her feelings are about the situation and what she wants. Michael

Just rented it Thursday. Nice movie. Great special effects!
