  8. Hola my loved ones, I've been maneuvering all week, ducking assignments, begging coworkers to cover for me, trading favors... And it looks like I actually have Saturday night and Sunday off of work!!! I'm actually going to make it to Elsinore this weekend!!!!! See you guys in the afternoon. I can't wait for hugs from all the "oldies" and to meet all you newbies - I feel like I'm going to look like the newbie after being away for so long...
  9. Okay, I'm soooo going to get flamed for this but haha, I have very little access to a computer this week so I prolly won't get to read the hate letters! lol So here's my thought. If we look at the world as full of human beings, all presumably deserving of human rights and the right to pursue a living and raise families, etc., what makes us as Americans more worthy of gettings jobs - even from American owned companies? We want free markets so that we can sell American goods overseas without undue taxation, so why should we be against the free market of labor? It seems we are all for globalization as long as it benefits America, but not when it benefits anyone else. Romanians are not the enemy, they're humans trying to make a living. There was a time when labor was cheap in America. Evolution happens. If we are not able to compete for cheap labor, we need to evolve to provide better technology, better services, better something. Because no amount of boycotting is going to change the fact that it's cheaper to make a movie in Arkansas than California, and cheaper still to do it in Canada, and cheaper yet again to do it in Romania. I say, don't get mad, get better. It's just a thought. Merry Christmas from your friendly neighborhood liberal! --- www.facebook.com/mandyhamptonfitch
  10. HAH! As a Berkeley grad, I might get in trouble hanging out near Stanford unless it's for the big game! So is the Nut House in Palo Alto? --- www.facebook.com/mandyhamptonfitch
  11. Hey all, When I was last in NY, I heard about Puck's Fair - a great pub where many NY area skydivers hangout on Thursday nights. Kiwi Pauly bartends there during the week... Anyway, I'm off to San Francisco tonight for the holidays and am wondering if anything similar exists in The City. And if not, anybody want to grab a beer in North Beach with me this week? PM me! Happy Holidays to all, Mandy --- www.facebook.com/mandyhamptonfitch
  12. Gia, Did you call him yet? If not, call him wherever you know he's not, leave a message that you saw that he had called. Be upbeat and say something rrrrreally nice. Then get off the phone and stay away from phones until he calls and leaves you a message - then you can hear from his tone whether he plans to destroy you or not.... Okay, that's pretty game-y, you could just call and say hi like all the wise people here have advised! But this way at least you'll kinda know what you're getting into... Father / daughter issues SUCK! --- www.facebook.com/mandyhamptonfitch

  14. I'll be in Manhattan staying with a friend way up on 122nd Street I think. Someone told me it's 30 blocks north of Harlem but somewhere south of Canada... Close to the A train, however, and I expect to spend all my time in the village until Monday when my client's film "Stuck on You" premiers... woohoo! --- www.facebook.com/mandyhamptonfitch

  17. Okay, here's a quote from my all time favortie movie. See what you can do: "In my case, you know, I hate to advocate drugs or liquor, violence, insanity to anyone. But in my case it's worked." --- www.facebook.com/mandyhamptonfitch

  19. There's a guy in my office who cares. He is SOOOO UPSET! Every few minutes he is updating us about how close the police are to picking old MJ up! lol --- www.facebook.com/mandyhamptonfitch
  20. What a strange question, Sharky! What does it mean to be anti-American? To quote (prolly not so well) the wonderful activist Arandati Roy, "does it mean that I don't like Jazz? Or that I do not delight in John Updike or Toni Morrison? That I have some quarrel with giant sequoias? Or that I hate free speech or am against human rights?" "Anti American" is fast becoming an idealogy for shrink-wrapped brains. Personally, I believe our forefathers would be appaulled at the encroachments our government is making on human rights. I might add that I do not believe that American capitalism as it is being played out today is sustainable, if militaries are needed to protect our interests. The hidden hand of the market should not need the clenched fist behind it. My two cents (mingled with Arandati's millions) --- www.facebook.com/mandyhamptonfitch

  24. Hey all, This is short notice but who is going to be in Eloy for the Halloween boogie? A friend of mine will be there but her jumping partner smashed his hand riding his motorcycle (and they say skydiving is dangerous!) so I wanted to point her in the direction of some friendly DZ dot commers. I've been telling her how cool everyone is here - be great to show her! Thanks --- www.facebook.com/mandyhamptonfitch
