Hey again, I received a really well written, well thought out post that seems to represent about 60 % of the responses I've received. The writer was kind enough to allow their thoughts to be posted here. Whether you agree or not about the evidence, etc., you gotta be happy that people like this are protecting our freedom. "I've been active duty army for ten years and I'm finishing up my arabic language training for Special Forces. I'll be going to the Middle East as a Special Forces Team Leader next month. I would much rather make love than war...but I think war is coming first. (i swear there is no pun intended) I don't think the president has given even 10% the evidence of chem and nuke weapons because we don't want Hussein to move them before we go in. This lack of evidence makes the war seem unjust to a lot of Americans. I think all the peace protests send the government a good message- that they will be held accountable for their use of the military. I feel safer trusting my life and my fertility (damn chemical wpns) to the decisions of the president when he knows that people will voice their protest and ultimately run him out of office if he is wrong. I would be horrified if there was a terrorist act with these weapons and we hadn't done anything. My brother served with the USS Cole and left it a week before it was bombed; one of my college professors and his wife survived the Nairobi embassy bombing; and my cousin ran out of WTC tower 2 before it collapsed. I don't feel this gives me a score to settle, but it's let me see first hand that some people in the world hate us and don't follow any rules. I am not a warmonger, though- I see being a good soldier kinda like being a firefighter- I hate fire; have lost friends to fire; am afraid of being killed or disfigured in fire; try to educate, inspect and make every one's house safe from fire; accept that fire has been part of human history despite lots of progress; accept that some moron is still going to fall asleep smoking; commit myself to being ready to fight fire; trust that the fire chief will not send me into a fire that does not need to be fought; don't hope for someones house to catch fire, but hope that when the siren eventually calls they send me, because I am the best and I want to bring every firefighter back to the station." --- www.facebook.com/mandyhamptonfitch

Okay, so cd is no longer stuck. I have a disk that lets the computer boot. The repair stuff on that disk can't repair the prob. In the meantime, I'm TRYING to transfer my most needed files onto the server we have (who knew we had a server?) but my computer keeps crashing. So, my hard drive is there, accessible in terms of being able to see everything. That's a good sign, right? A short time ago, I updated my OS to 9.2.1. However, when I boot from that disk, it does not see my hard drive. I get a message about the disk being damaged - but I don't know it means the actual disk or my hard drive, since it does boot up.
