Cazadora Rodriguez, the winner of the Wet / No T-Shirt contest. Kris Yep, that was Cazadora! Awsome woman! I even got a chance to jump RW with her down at her home DZ during the Harvest Moon Boogie. It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1

Thank you Lew and Canuck. That was the info i needed to make an informed decision. Much appreciated, and i'll buy you guys and gal (Cajones too) a real beer at Rantoul this year for helping out! Firewire and a CamEye won't work for me right now though, damnit. I'm using an old JVC (yuk) with no firewire, usb, or LANC ports. I have no options other than capturing directly to a vhs or my hard drive. I'm hoping to have a good Sony by WFFC time though. The JVC GR-DV1U is something I picked up for a hundred bucks, and I don't worry about trashing it while learning. The EOS (the one I hotwired) was given to me, so the only investment I'll have in that is the lens. The DV cam came with a roll cage, so all I need now is a blow switch and a good top/side mount helmet. I've been checking out a few helmets and so far I'm leaning to the Hawkeye LT. Cajones, I see what you reccomended for freefly wide angle. Any idea what I should be looking for in the way of an rw wide angle? I've seen from .4 to .6 and have no clue which would be better suited to what I'll be filming. 4-10 way rw mostly, with some FF mixed in to make it interesting. I've got my still ready to go, and am planning on ordering a 28mm fixed for that. What would closely match in minidv to the 28 for stills? I'm thinking .6, but don't want to dish out the $$$ till I'm sure. It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1

OK, I finished the work on this EOS. It is totally different inside as compared to all the web documents I have found. Basically, it doesn't have the obvious tabs for the remote switch/grip mount, so i had to solder directly to the board the shutter switch is mounted to. It works, and that's all I wanted! Note: There is very, very little room in this body with the battery and standard grip to mount a jack. I managed to squeeze it in, but it's really tight. Bottom and front pics show the jack placement, and trust me, on this model, there is noplace else to put it! Wires pic shows the shutter relase board, and shows which wires are for which function. Sorry, I used the wrong colors to highlight, but these are the color of the wires on the board: Black=Ground-signal return Green=Focus Purple=Shutter fire Of course, to use all these you need a 2 stage switch, but when shooting in manual focus, you only need to fire. Here's the catch: When in either mode, BOTH the green and the purple wires must be grounded to black to fire the shutter. Groundng just the green focuses the lense (if auto focus is turned on), while grounding just the purple does nothing. Grounding both in AF causes the camera to focus before firing, and grounding both in Manual mode causes instant firing of the shutter. Easy to set up when you wire in a switch, I think. OK, now for the switch. I've been seriously considering a blow switch over a tongue switch (bite is out of the question). Any pros and/or cons of either? It's your life, live it! Mmmmmm, Shiner Bock..... I miss being in Texas besause of that beer! I asked a local store up here about getting some of it. I offered to buy 1-2 cases a week, and asured them it would become quite popular, so they checked with their supplier. He said there is no distribution this far north, but he's gonna work on it. Might be a year or 2, but I'll get some again someday.... It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1

Yes. Who do you think was cooler, the Jackson 5 or the Osmonds? I can hardly remember them, so I tend to lean towards New Kids on the Block. It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1

I like that idea too. If somebody knows what gear they want, or the specific type of main and size, they could go right to that. Like: Wings W18 Spectre 170 PDR176 Cypress All gear one year old and JUMPED BY SANGIRO! Call Bonnie at Gravity Gear! Something like that would be really cool. I know it'a alot of work re-writing all that code ( ) , but, it would be really nice if the classifieds were set up exactly the same as new gear ads. Imagine looking for, say, a used Spectre. You want a 170 (like I do). You go to the classifieds, click used gear, click main canopys, click 7 cell, and if there happens to be any Spectres for sale, you click on the Spectre link, and browse the results. If there are no Spectres for sale, you still have a list of links for other 7 cell canopys, like the PD's for instance, or the Diablos. See, you go looking for a 7 cell, and that's what you see, even if you didn't, before that time, know there were any other 7 cells. Same with reserves. Looking for a PD, but see all the others that have there own links, broadening you options. For years I couldn't remember the difference between a Silhouette and a Spectre, without going to a gear dealer site. This would help also. People know either exactly what they want, or have a general idea of what they want (like the 'Spectre' vs. 'a 7 cell main') Would be cool but only a suggestions, HH. It's your life, live it! Hear hear. The DVD quality, as long as the production is done up to DVD quality, is the way to go. I'll buy VHS if that's all there is, but then I'd have to capture it onto my 'puter, encode, and burn to DVD or SVCD to watch on my TV. (he only VHS player in the house is hooked up to the computer for that reason. The other 4 tv's all have dvd players, but no vhs.) It's your life, live it! I have an ATI TV Wonder VE, which is probably what he has, since it's cheap. If that's it, tell him "Don't bother". The drivers available for the card (or at least the ones I have found) do not allow high enough resolution to provide a decent video. It's also prone to dropping alot of frames, since it uses lots o' processor power. It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1
