  1. A Good Friend will help ya move. Your BEST Friend will help ya move a body! That's my definition too! Just ask my best friend! He'll back me on that one! 'Shell
  2. 26 as of 715pm my time (MDT). Quite slow. I thought the neighbourhood I lived in was GAINING kids but I think I was wrong. Considering there's no snow on the ground (like there was LAST year) I'm at about HALF of what we had last year (for the entire night). I normally shut it down at about 730 or so ... maybe 8 if I see there's a lot out on the street. Guess that means more candy for me!!! Guess it's a good thing I bought what I like!! 'Shell
  3. I've been a very happy convert for a year and a half now ... and if you have questions, ask murrays Honestly, I LOVE my Mac. Trying to convince them at work that it would be better for me to use. One day ... And honestly, murrays is a good one to ask ... sorry, Murray but you've been a HUGE help to me with the questions I've had. Hope you don't mind the plug!
  4. Yep, inner ear and I think they do tattoo them when they spay or neuter them but here, it's also used in case they get lost! When you register your cats and dogs and get their tags, they'll put the tattoo number (or microchip nubmer) down with their tag numbers. Thay way, if they get lost and show up at the pound, they can find their owners. Hopefully this little guy had a microchip because he didn't have a tattoo. 'Shell
  5. My new ones are wearing collars and tags - the tags were the first thing I got for them. Daisy's already chipped, too; I'll get Franklin chipped in a couple of weeks when I take him in for his last series of shots and neutering. They're both going to be indoor cats, but just in case... My big white cat (AKA Herc the Boxer) is tattooed and has his tags too .. but he doesn't go out unless I do. Fat Cat (who doesn't venture outside the yard) has a tat but no collar ... I don't like cats with collars .. they can get hung up on stuff with them on. My wandering cat (who I lost a little while back) is now chipped but I still won't put a collar on him as he's my happy wanderer and I don't want him getting hung up on things. Tats, chips or tags. Do whatever you think is best to keep your pets safe.
  6. Damn 'twardo .. I'm SNORTING I'm laughing so hard .... 'Shell
  7. That's what he said when he picked him up. He didn't even get put in the back of the truck. He rode "shotgun" with the guy from animal control. All he said was "He can ride with me. He's pretty cool. If it's not their's, he'll get adopted real quick. He's really cute." I really hope it's his family and the tags and tats get done soon!
  8. Once again, I find myself with a lost puppy in my yard. Happened about the same time last year. And before you ask, yes, the yard is fenced (see my previous post about my Sunday Project). I have 2 cats so I have cut away a panel in my gate (about a foot by a foot) so my fat cat can come and go as he pleases to the end of the garage pad. That's as far as he ventures. ANYway ... tonight, a little puppy decides to come in through that hole and onto my deck. To the chagrin of Herc, my "big white cat" (also known as a Boxer). Said puppy is, as far as I can tell, a Pit Bull. They bark at each other through the patio door and I scoot Herc futher into the house to see if I can find out where this little dude (yes, I saw a penis, he's a dude!) belongs. No collar. No tats, nothing. So now I have a dog on my deck, making the dog in my house rather uncomfortable. And the dog on the deck won't leave. My cat has a rather comfortable chair out there that he's starting to think is his new home. So, I grab the phone, go out onto the deck (WITH a glass of wine) and proceed to call and get ahold of animal control. And get put on hold. In the meantime, this little fella is cuddling against my legs and trying to find a way to get into my lap or, if he can, into the house. Herc is blocking that path so he's trying to crawl up my legs and onto my lap. He's not that big. About 16" tall and maybe, 30 lbs. Only slightly larger than my fat cat. He is so terrified of Herc (who's just sitting there doing nothing - as he normally does) that he's SHAKING. I scoot the big white cat into the house and close the patio doors. Shaking subsides. But he continues to sit at my feet and rub against my legs. He really is cute. And well behaved. I get a live person at animal control and they get all the details from me, etc, etc, etc, and will send someone out within the hour. Great. I have MY dog sitting in the house staring at me while I'm out on the deck with ANOTHER dog. I do what any person would with a stray dog and her own in the house. I squeeze through the patio door, close it, go get dog treats and take them out to the HOMELESS guy on the deck. Apparently he's loved and trained because immediatley upon smelling said treats, his ass hits the deck, his paw hits the air and he sits there looking really, really cute. He got the treat. Twice. Okay, three times. He was quite cute. So I sit there with this little homeless guy while my little buddy stares at me through the patio doors. I feel like SUCH a traitor. But I realize it's for the good of the puppy. And finally animal control arrives. And the little puppy barks at them like he owns the house and how dare they come in the yard. And he laughs and says "We got a call that someone lost a dog that looks just like him in this area. We're going to take him there now." I hope he's home safe and sound. He was such a cutie. 'Shell
  9. Oh, you make me laugh!!! 'Shell
  10. Thanks, Jewels. I have to admit, I had some help with it. My 74 year old father helped do the math on the measurements and my brother showed up just in time to help screw together the last panel and then was nice enough to hold it while I put the hinges onto the post to hang it. And as far as the chincillas go, if you have any hanging around doing nothing, I could use them for a collar and cuffs! 'Shell
  11. Actually....Chunks ia a Dog! And Joe Jennings laughs and laughs at that joke! I really hope he chimes in here. 'Shell
  12. Well, I DO have that chiminea ... until it's covered in snow. A little chinchilla in the backyard...bring the Lil' guy inside BEFORE it snows! Okay, 'twardo ... back away from the tequila. The chincilla will be fine. I'll bring him in. I promise. 'Shell
  13. Well, I DO have that little chiminea in the backyard ... until it's covered in snow. 'Shell
  14. Thanks. And yes, I have a few splinters as well. Not the first time, won't be the last. The sawdust is still on the floor of my garage. Smells WONDERFUL! Until I sweep it up and throw it away. But I still have the off cuts laying in a pile in there. Makes me wish I had a fireplace.
  15. I sent THIS SONG to some friends that lost a dear friend last year. They found something in it that made them smile. I hope you all do too. Just click the play arrow. Godspeed, Tonto. 'Shell
  16. No it's not! Put on your bifocals and look again. Oops...you're right....camper has a flat tire then. Wow, you saw that the trailer was skewed. I'm impressed. It's not a flat tire. The hitch has a crank on one side that it sits on. I removed the stand from the OTHER side of the hitch when I was getting it ready to move out to the farm for the winter. Yeah, it's on a tilt now. GOOD bifocals! 'Shell
  17. No it's not! Put on your bifocals and look again. 'Shell
  18. Why thank you. I don't actually have a tool BELT ... but I have a lot of tools! And not a one is pink! Hmmm ... must find a pink reciprocating saw ... I don't have one. 'Shell
  19. If I were closer, I'd help in a heartbeat. Of course, I'd expect you to supply the wine.
  20. Beautiful. Both your words and the picture.
  21. Finally decided that I needed to finish off the fence in the backyard. Decided to put in a gate rather than a fence just in case I have to pull my trailer into the yard from the garage pad. While I store it at my aunt's farm in the winter, if I need better access to the garage when it's here in the summer, I have an out now. All I need to do is finish a 4' section of fence on the left of the gate and I'm done. For now. But that's a project for next weekend. As long as it doesn't snow. I feel like I accomplished something today. And my puppy dog can still see what's going on out back.
  22. Yep, time will tell. When I got a new kitten (who was 8 months old) my 4 year old HATED the sight of him. It took them a good 2 or 3 months to finally work things out. I never separated them (they were both male - I probably SHOULD have but they were both outdoor cats so they had their "space" there). They never got "violent" with one another. The odd hissing and batting at each other was all they did. And that continued until this past year. Now, 2+ years later, they both sleep on my bed and the older one grooms the younger one. There's still a little batting and hissing but only when the old guy is being an ass ... it now comes from the young one!! And if they get really bad, I just sick the dog on them. That cools them both off. Enjoy your new kitties. And thanks for being such a good mom adopting them.
  23. We started using dry ice in our coolers in Lost Prairie a couple of years ago. It works great and lasts about 5 or 6 days as long as you're not opening and closing the cooler a lot. If you're going to use it, dedicate it to one cooler for things that you don't mind freezing solid (like meat). ANYTHING that gets close to the dry ice in the cooler will freeze solid. OJ, milk, eggs, etc. And post more pics. That looked like fun! 'Shell
  24. HEY!! I just realized that you might have decided to match me but you ENLARGED it!
