What a great article! 50th wedding anniversary?? Looking at that picture of Sandy (and knowing her) she must have been a BABY when she married John! 'Shell

I can't believe it's been a year since we lost Mac. LP last year just wasn't the same without him. I know he was there in spirit, and in the LOVELY rather lifelike figure of him propped up in the corner.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ya old fart!

Yes, it's a very economical way to rid your sidewalk of weeds. And environmentally friendly! Once the latest snowfall melts and things get warmer, I'm going to try that on my sidewalk and some other weeds in my flowerbeds. Does it work on maple trees? I have what, feels like to me, a MILLION of these sucker trees along the side of my house. I have dug them out and they keep coming back! And I'm talking 5 YEARS of cutting them back and digging them out. 'Shell

I think 4" of snow on Friday night and a 2 hour commute home in that crap.... and then 2" more on Saturday night.. does not qualify for SPRING in my book...luckily I still have 1.5 cords of wood to make it thru this "SPRING" Judging by the pile of snow on the garbage bin outside my building at work this morning, we've had at least a foot of the white stuff since Saturday. And it's not letting up!! I just shoveled AGAIN (6th time since Saturday) and I'll probably have to do it at least twice more. Fuckin' weather! Long range forecast doesn't look like it'll warm up until the early part of May ... 'Shell

He is ADORABLE! Have fun with him!

It was 14oC here in Edmonton on Thursday and not a stitch of snow left in my yard. Started snowing yesterday. Windchills put the temp at about -19oC last night. About 15cm on the ground already and they're expecting another 15cm between now and tomorrow afternoon. Winter storm warning for the city with high winds and lots of snow. I've shoveled 4 times already. I'm SICK of this!! 'Shell

Jeez, sounds terrible. And I was just asking...there was no need to get all pissy about it. Blues, Dave What she said. Especially about the Canadians. Way too many of them. You're better off staying away. If you did show up, you might have to protect them. Edited to add: BTW, I have that t-shirt. Will you get all pissy if I wear it? 'Shell

Thank you Karen and EVERYONE for the birthday wishes. Life is good. I'm upright and suckin' air ... can't be all bad. Another year has come and gone. And I'm still smiling and still laughing. And I'm very thankful for the people in my life. And that includes all of you.

And as the Crack Choir learned in LP one year, you reallllllly do need access to a fridge. Trying to use a cooler and ice as your source of refrigeration is not a good thing. Get the jello to set at the proper temperature before using your cooler only to transport. Ever try to eat frozen jello? It's not pretty. We did have to chill the shots in coolers with ice one year. It worked fine. Not sure if that's the year you're thinking of. This was about 8 years ago. We had Petey guard them up at Groarke's.
