What summer flowers are blooming this year at your house?
Shell666 replied to ltdiver's topic in The Bonfire
Nice pics. I have Lemon Symphony and Zinnia's in pots on my deck. I inadvertently planted Teko in my neighbour's window box. It doesn't do well in the rain but it sure likes the sun. -

Today would guarantee it. After that, it's your best guess! And if, by chance, you beat me there, the first drink's on me. Otherwise, I'll just put it on YOUR tab when I get there. 'Shell -
The mosquitos are really bad here this year and I planted some Pennyroyal (herb) in a pot on my deck. I've seen a few here this year but it seems to be working to keep the little buggers away. They say it's a natural insect repellent. It makes a good ground cover and it likes moist conditions so your yard sounds like it'll LOVE it there. It probably won't get rid of all them but it might make things a little more bearable. Good luck with whatever you choose!! 'Shell

-Which type are you talking about? The inflatable camping/guest type like Lisa was saying or the 'Sleep Number' permanent kind of beds? I was wondering about Sleep Number beds vs. TempurPedic myself...our bed cost a *gawdawful* lot for something that SUCKS this bad!!! I stayed in a hotel last month that had one of the Sleep Number Beds in it. HATED it. It felt like you were sleeping on an air mattress with a foamie on top. But some people on the trip with me liked it. If you're thinking about buying one of them, find a hotel in the area that has them and stay a few nights first (I was a in a Radisson in Ontario so check your local Radisson's). They're not all the commercials make them out to be. To me, they're just a "fluffy" air mattress. 'Shell

Of course. I didn't get to be rich and famous by having bad ideas. Maybe someone can loan you a video camera and you and your boobies can take turns driving and getting video of each other? And the great ideas just keep coming! You're getting more rich and famous by the moment! (BTW, thanks for the correct spelling of famous!) I'll see what I can do about a loaner. I should warn you, my boobies are TERRIBLE videographers ... 'Shell -

That's a GREAT idea! And I would volunteer but I don't have a video camera and I'm driving alone (well, I guess not exactly "alone" --- I'm along for the ride, the BOOBIES are driving). Maybe some other Canucks can help. I'll put the word out to them. 'Shell -

Here it is in the pot. The pot is about 12" across. When I first planted it (about a month or so ago) it was two little plants with about 2 or 3 flowers on each of them (and it was about 3" high). According to the little plastic info stick that came with it, they get to be about 12" to 14" high. This one is about 7 or 8" high now. But it's REALLY filled out. It looked very lonely in the pot when I first put it in there. They seem to grow very quickly! Mine's in direct sun most of the day and I water it every day. It seems to be working! Edited to add - in addition to the blooms that are already open, there are about 20 or 25 MORE coming in! It just keeps blooming and blooming! It's VERY pretty! 'Shell
