Using Sony Vegas MS HD Plat 10 and having rendering times of 13-15 minutes with GoPro HD vs 3 minutes with old CX 12 HD footage. Footage length is the same, about 4 or 5 minutes or so. Using a windows XP system with a 3 year old quad core board. Any advice or tips on speeding it up? Ive got a friend using a Samsung laptop and rendering in 5 minutes.

Do I need to upgrade to Vegas Pro? HELP! -
Can't remember company names...just get a random e mail once and a while from companies in India or Pakistan making gloves and jumpsuits. Hesitant to give out credit card info overseas without some references.
-
I am in need of some cheap but good looking tandem suits. Anyone ever buy from those Indian companies?
-
Not sure Lance. Bought it from Chicago new. We love 340's and stick to em. Rumor has it the'yre putting Vectran or HMA on em soon. josh
-
Do you offer a "trade up" discount from your customers who have bought your single gloves?:)
-
I seriously believe the 370 is a tension knot magnet. We have since switched to all 340's and one icarus 365 and have not had a single chop in 1.5 years or 3000 tandems. Same packer. knock on wood here.
-
mine has a hard time turing on when in the water proof housing. buttons seem to be making contact...i wear without the housing now

I have just made a handicam glove for my gopro. I unscrewed the lens off the waterproof case, cut a 5mm cylinder section from just below the thread of a coke bottle and super glued the glass lens filter to the cylinder to produce a filter. I then adhered the filter to the go pro with some 3M command adhesive I cut into a ring shape for use without the waterproof case, and protect the lens I made a neoprene handicam glove using a pair of broken goggles, 3 beer coolers with some binding tape and some nice lining material. Using the go pro out of the waterproof case lowers is profile substantially, and improves the audio, making the lens filter was key to using this configuration. I have not used it commercially yet but one other at work is, his footage is much crisper than any of the cx100 and Panasonic SD9 footage due to the shitty lenses us skydivers are sold for exorbitant prices. My current glove cost me; AUS$ $350 on a handicam glove $250 for a lens $40 for lens filter $120 for Hype Eye $650 for CX100e = $1410 My go pro cost me $350 and includes a wide angle lens and filter, and an indicator light and my handicam glove cost me $18, and a few hours work. I’ll post photos later… photos man!!!! Thanks.

Automating DVD burn after vegas finishes render

Is this feature available with Movie Studio Platinum or just pro? -
They're made in Europe where there are no obese people to fall out of harnesses.
-
Yeah I was really disappointed. After the bomb proof 365 we had the new 330 had noticeably different material. They are too expensive to take a gamble again.
-
No it was blue and white.
-
Bought a 330 2 years ago...turned to f111 in 500 jumps. No flare left unless you whip it. Have a 8 year old 365 with 2000 jumps still going strong. Not sure what happened to their choice of material but something changed. They are expensive too. I would now stick with Sigma 340's.

Simon's gloves are top quality and easy service. We have 3 of them. One didnt quite fit right and a week later we had a new one. No need to ship overseas. His or waycool.
-
If it is not bolted (suction or to inspection plate) does it need to have the 337?
-
This week zero...June July Aug...80-100 per week per TM.

I would stay away from 330 340 size canopies if you are new. They can get away from you if your skills are not so solid as we have seen a few times resulting in fatal incidents. The set 400 and Precision 365 would be good starters. Forgiving, the SET has a flat glide and plenty of lift. The Precision 365 more cost effective with still plenty of lift. As soon as you have maybe 500 tandems with the above recommendations, the the Sigma 340 is in my opinion the best for the experienced tandem canopy pilot. Another tip: Watch your landings on video. Make sure you dont settle for any flares that arent FULL FLARES. Even with a performance maneuver, you should be maxing out your landing with your arms, not you or your students feet. Unless there is a bunch of wind of course. I used to argue with other instructors saying they were flaring only half way. They would deny and deny until showed them video of them flaring half way! Hope this helps

Set 366/400 with Vectran flight characteristic changes?
skydiveoc replied to TaylorC's topic in Tandem Skydiving
my experience w set 400, about 3000 tandems with them, is that the spectra shrinkage over time definitely put the canopy out of trim, in my case, causing an annoying ballooning tendency. I guess vectran keeps the canopy in trim better and wears out quicker so as to hasten re-lines! -
Video of every tandem regardless of purchase
skydiveoc replied to subject21's topic in Tandem Skydiving
So the DZO really thinks this is a good idea? To spend another $40 on gas and pilot not to mention tach to make $30 on a vid?
