Well first of all because it's freakin fun as hell !!!!

I'm not sure about stupid but I've always thought this was funny. A friend of mine was going through AFP and on every jump was scared to get right next to the door for exit. His JM told him on his last jump that he needed to get closer to the door. His response: "It feels like I'm gonna fall out if I get any closer" This guy never did finish his AFP and has not jumped for the last 3 years.....I guess he was to afraid of falling out of the plane...haha
-
Dude, that is so cool!!! Congrats!!!!! Every jump is gonna be better than the last. Forget about all those whuffo friends complaining about it, you have to listen to all of their bullshit I'm sure. Atleast yours are AWESOME stories, so I say talk all you want!!!! I feel your excitement, I'm only a few jumps away from my A and am totally stoked myself!!!! Blue Skies!!

Need some AFF encouragement
freakyflygirl replied to SkyMadness's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
After my first jump all I could think was "What the hell just happened", so 3 weeks later I went for another and loved it!!!! Every plane ride up til level 7, I thought to myself "why am I doing this, I'm never going to do this again". Of course after getting out I absolutely loved it. You will remember more of your jumps as you do more. I did have a bad day where things didn't go right and did end up having a bad landing. Completely 100% my fault. Listen to your instructors!!!! It took me almost 2 years to get back in the air and let me tell you...Standing at the plane waiting to get on for my first jump back, I almost didn't do it because I was so freakin terrified!!! But I learned from my mistake and now I'm having awesome landings and awesome jumps!!! The fear is still there on the ride up....I'm not sure if that'll ever go away. My advice, only skydive if i is truly something YOU want to do, learn from others mistakes and go ahead and spend some time at the dz even if your not jumping...you wouldn't believe the information and helpful advice you get just hanging around. Oh yeah, and HAVE FUN!!!!! -
4:0:0 :: All numbers are due to the cruddy weather here in Illinois. Oh well, hopefully the weather will be better next weekend and I can up the second two numbers.

Law....your either married or just a very smart, well educated man....LMAO!!!! My rules: 1) Treat others how you want to be treated. 2) Don't ask someone to do something that you wouldn't do yourself.

Murrays, have you ever seen that movie Mousehunt?? Your story reminds me of that...lol.
-
Oh....that's not even funny! J I second that..., gives me the creeps just to think about it and trust me I have!!! Yeah JT everytime my cat brings me a mouse, I pet her and give her a treat by her food dish. So now that seems to be where she'll drop them after she plays with them for a couple hours . Well guys, I'm in the sticks here, I've got mice, spiders, spider webs, crickets (one in the house right now!!! ), grasshoppers and every other critter you can think of, except for the cocroaches. So I take it nobody will be visiting me anytime soon ...lol. FYI, it took 2 xanax, a stick, my entire living room moved around, a cat, box, scooper, and one very brave guy to come help me out to get rid of that little shit!!! Unfortunately the only thing that really worked was the brave guy...Who I thank VERY much!!!! I hate this time of year, when temps start to drop they all seem to want to get in HERE!!! That's ok, I'm heading to the dz soon to go learn to pack!!! I'll probably have a pile of rodents waiting for me when I get home

Murophobia, Musophobia, Suriphobia: apparantly what us freak's "condition" is called. The fear of mice. While surfing for this I found some strange phobias out there, such as the fear of peanut butter sticking to the roof of your mouth and the fear of the color yellow...Kinda makes me feel a little more normal . I just took a xanax and I'm now ready to go take on that little guy. I've got a scooper and bowl to start with, a box to put over him if that doesn't work and a meat cleaver if all else fails... Wish me luck!!!!

Did you happen to read the thread in the women's forum about the large chested girl....See if you buy a rig and not get a boob job then you won't have those issues I'm still saying go for the rig.
-
Aren't you operating heavy machinery right now?????
-
If there is one thing I am absolutely riduculously terrified of dealing with, it's mice!!!!! I am currently being held hostage by another mouse. Since the deep fryer incident I've gotten a kitten and she loves to play with them. This is no joke, she was throwing it, literally across the room. NOW it's hiding under my vacum!!!!!!!! I'm thinking of turning the darn thing on it's still plugged in and the mouse is still under there. It's a Hoover and a very small mouse, will it work?????? Not to mention tonight that the "outside" cat has delivered a mouse and a toad to the front door tonight. HELP!!!!!!!!!!! I've suddenly turned into one of those weak girly, girls that I desperately try not to be!!! Sorry if I offend any of you animal lovers...lol
-
I truly wish there was something that I could do to help!!! I really do!! From the looks of it you have TONS of people that care about YOU!!! Hang in there!!
-
I PM'd her about a week or so ago just to make sure she didn't get banned again...lol. I'm sorry to hear about her AFF!!! I know she was so excited before. Tell her to hang in there and be tough!!!!! She'll return when she's ready.
-
Ohhhhhh, Drewboo, you were one of those pesky little critters at one time...lol. I have 2 kids of my own and school bus stopping, nose picking and getting flipped off while behind the bus irritates me at times as well. Rant away!!!!!!!!!
-
Yeah I guess when you look at it like that we're not the unfortunate ones...lol. Just gotta spend a little more $$ on push up bras . I remember when I was in the hopspital for one of my ankle surgeries I had to share a room (don't ever recommend that EVER). The chick across from me had a breast reduction. I heard the doc talking to her and he mentioned the fact that he had taken out 5lbs. of boob from each side.... Dude, that's equal to like 50 of us "ufortunate" ones.
-
Glad to hear your doing well Just remember chicks dig scars (I haven't figured out why yet)....But trust me on this one, I know. So milk it for whatever you can get. Oh yeah and enjoy the narcotics!!!
-
I knew of someone faced with the same decision as you....she opted for the boobs. From what I hear she doesn't or doesn't hardly every jump. I haven't seen her around for the last year. I'm one of the unfortunate ones as well, I would definately go for the rig!!!

Thanks for all the input everyone!!!!! I did find out today that I have to take 3 different seminar type courses AT a school before I can start with the online program. I think they total something like 14 days and then I can do everything from home which is the what I think I'm going to have to do. As much as I want this I still have to put the family first. Which as you all said is going to take massive amounts of discipline (which I lack severely...lol) At any rate, I know I can get this done, I just want to get it done NOW!! I lack patience as well sometimes..lol Just got to keep my eye on the end result....a career that'll provide me with more jumps!!!!!! Oh yeah, and stability and all that junk that goes with being a responsible adult

ICK!! I've heard about that book from lots of people. Maybe I'll get it next time I'm at the library. I think my days of steak on the grill will be long gone after that I'm sure. Great book from what I hear.
-
Well then, this should confirm your veganism: Yup, veg all the way now......THAT was disturbing and OMG sooooooooooooooo disgusting!!! I actually feel ill after reading that. Mental note: No trips to South Korea
-
Dude, sorry about having to go back to work, sucks I know But definately GOOD LUCK, I hope all goes well for you!!!!!!
-
Anyone have any experience with these? I've decided to go back to school to get my appraisers license and most of my courses are offered online. I'm afraid that it'll be easy to f&*k off if I go this route vs. actually driving the hour and a half to take all day classes all day on Saturdays (which will seriously cut into any possible jump time). I will be working full time with 2 very active kids and once I get through the first few courses I'll have to start an appreticeship that takes 3000 hours. In the long run the $$$$$$$ will be A LOT better. On the other hand if I go the online route, I can do everything at night during the week. Who needs sleep anyways, right? Just wondering if anyone has had any bad experiences with online courses.... YIKES, I'm gonna be a college student again, Hopefully this time I'll remember most of it

I'm a meat lover but don't yall know meat comes from the STORE, NOT animals... Thanks for the comment...lol, I'm back to being a vegetarian again for the next few weeks.

I've found taking Metra is THE only way to go to get downtown. Unless of course someone else is driving . I absolutely LOVE Chicago, the energy alone in the city is phenomenal!!! I have been to other big cities in the US and still Chicago is my fav. But take this for what it's worth, I live in a small town about 1 1/2 hours to 3 (depending on traffic ) that only has about 2000 people and ONE stop light that was just put in about a month ago. I think we even have a center line on one of our roads here . For all you naysayers, I just have to say again I love the city. And thanks to AM I took my first bus ride a couple weeks ago. Those damn cab rides get expensive, not to mention scary as hell!!!!!!!
