  2. Congrats! Now go drink 13 beers :)
  3. 2800ft can turn into 3000ft with just a small twist of the dial on your alti
  4. If you need to cutaway then cutaway! It is your responsibility to help the dzo find the gear. I know of some places that try to charge people for lost mains and others accept it as a loss on rental gear. You really should know what you're responsible for before using renting it.
  5. I wouldn't agree that he is wrong and you're right. It has the potential to cause an issue, just like anything else in jumping.
  6. Really? You have been in the sport for 5 years and never heard or considered this?!?
  7. If his "friend" is meeting you to pick it up, tell him cash only!
  8. Anyone who wants to jump a camera can and will. You're all adults and can do whatever you like as far as I'm concerned. The people who are annoying are the ones who come on here and argue over and over and over about these stupid little cameras. Sorry but you can't tell another adult what they can or can't do unless you own the dz. Most footage is abosolute garbage that you will get when you're new but it might get you laid from a whuffo or just impresses your little friends. If you want to jump with one just do it. It would be a good idea to get some advice from actual people at your dz. Not advice from a bunch of internet folk.
  9. Herpes, that is the first symptom.
  10. Just shove it in the bag and wrap a rubber band around it.
  11. I would believe that. I know of a DZ that has atleast a few aad fires every year. They're never talked about online but it has ranged from student to highly experienced and also a tandem fire in the last few years.
  12. You probably just need to tweak it a little. Compare it to the one you took off. Is it the same size? Worst case just wear googles and leave the visor off.
  13. I've had nothing but good experiences with them. They have done free repacks for me when I sent it in for a minor issue with a new rig. Which was my mess up that they fixed for free!
  14. You need to just relax, go to the DZ, pay for a jump and spend a little extra time on the ground going over the jump. Level 3 is not something that is so difficult you HAVE to go to the tunnel first before you can pass it! Lots of students never use the tunnel. If you relax and really go over the dive I bet you will do fine. Have some faith in yourself and have fun

    iPhone 5,

I played with a friends for a few hours this afternoon. Honestly not impressed anymore than the last iphone. Slight size changes, it seems to run programs about the same. If you're the kind of person that has to have every new phone I think you're stupid. but have at it .
  16. You're already jumping gear that most would say is a little too small for you. Moving down to a 190 would put you at 1.3 on your main and reserve. I would suggest sticking with a 210 for a few hundred jumps. Not to offend you but in 42 jumps you haven't really seen "all types of weather" and landed in all of it.
  17. There is a huge difference in comfort between tandem/student gear and a customer fit harness!!
  18. Personally I purchased a new container, new reserve, used main and used AAD. There is no reason to buy a brand new main unless you got a lot of money. More than likely you will change main canopies within a few hundred jumps (less for a lot of people). I have bought and sold a few used canopies and didn't lose any money. The new canopies I bought lost a hundreds of dollars quickly. Your choice though.
  19. Reserves will be a thing of the past soon. Once we get that perfect canopy made we can have really small rigs
  20. There are evalutors that travel to different dz's to do courses. Bram from SkydiveRatings.com travels all around.
