haha this!

I would do it now. Worst case you go a little uncurrent and have to do a refresher class.

There are really only so many places that can support a tunnel. I would see a tunnel working in Chicago and Atlanta. I'm sure there are more areas it would work but it would never survive in most places just off of the general public and a few smaller dz's that are local.
-
You will be getting one there. iFly has 50 tunnels planned in the next 5 years. There is no way 50 tunnels are opening in the next 5 years. I would be surprised to see 5 more open.

Tunnel flying vs in the sky

What tunnel are you at? -
So what happens if he needs to cut away or dump his reserve? Just reach under the suit??

Did you learn this from Point Break Shredex? Op - Your best approach is to ask the more experienced people at your DZ. They can go over body positions with you and then go up in some smaller tracking dives to practice. There are ways of getting down to a tracking dive fast if you're high but you can also crash hard into people doing it!! There is a video of a tracking dive where two people collided knocking them both out till their AAD fired. So becareful but have fun!

Big ways are getting EXPENSIVE
Mr_Polite replied to mirage62's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Once you hit a certain point a big way becomes kind of pointless and boring to me. If it's just a one or two point skydive you end up just hanging out in your slot waiting for everyone else. Talk about boring! -
Whats wrong with a drug test?

Your packing technique can wear a pilot chute out faster. I know of a jumper that destroyed one in about 150 jumps. The way she was packing it the bridle was rubbing across it bad and just wore it out. Put a bunch holes in it. Is it off heading openings as well? I would start with the line trim.

Glow in the dark for night jumps!

You should have done a full gear check and he wouldn't have had a floating reserve handle

I wouldn't pay anything over $5 for a signed shirt. Actually I probably wouldn't pay anything for it with his signature.

It will probably just be moved to mexico and someone there will start making your favorite sugar products once again.

Your a bit biased in this subject though. YOU may put people into the yes pile for putting something like skydiving onto a resume but that's because you skydive. Your typical hiring manager may not look at it the same way as you. Lots of people look at this sport as being stupid, irresponsible and high risk.

Outrage Over Skydiving Cat Video
Mr_Polite replied to Deisel's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
It should be obvious this is fake! I wonder how these people would react to the video of people taking chickens skydiving. -
It's not that difficult to check your altimeter while you're tracking. Are you using an analog or digital altimeter? A chest strap one will make it easier but you should be able to look at it on your wrist while still tracking. If you can't practice more.
-
Why can't you check your alti while you are tracking?

This is the same guy that said he was going to charge people to take a piss on a plane. Honestly I think he just does it for publicity, and it works. Not that it's right but if he wanted to do this he would need to totally seperate the standing galley. I'm fine with people jeopardizing their own life but I don't want them flying all over the cabin were I would be seated.
-
I think he's asking too much but what else is the problem?

If you shove two "full fitting" canopies into a rig, it will be a brick and a pain in the ass to pack for both you and your rigger. if you reallly want to upsize and your current rig won't work than buy a new rig.
-
It depends on the DZ. I know of a few people that own a Tandem rig and use it at different dz's for this reason. Also if you own your own tandem rig and do tandems at a dz you will get paid more per tandem because your using your own equipment. Again this is going to vary dz to dz.
-
You're getting way too worked up. The only thing you need to show up at the dz with for the next few months is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. As long as you have that you can just show up, the instructors will teach you what you need to know and will provide the gear.
