Bill, with all due respect notice that in my post I do mention why we have cheap gas. Not so long ago (maybe 3 years) I was paying more or less $1 per gallon. The fact that we are cheaper than Itally or the UK is no consollation for me. If it were an increase in MY taxes to spend more on MY schooling system (vide: 1992 Ross Perot presidential campaign) I could accept it. This is supporting the oil producers - mainly OPEC affiliated arab countries. By now MY gas prices are higher. Do I honestly care about the Middle East? Not really! As far as I am concerned they can kill each other and I would be happy. Last but not least I don't see the Federal Government going after Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain and many other countries of the region. Your theft analogy is perhaps a bit far fetched. Do you feel that the UK is being left out. I see Her Majesty's government going hand in hand with Washington. What are you complaining about, you will benefit too, and perhaps more than we. jraf Me Jungleman! Me have large Babalui. Muff #3275

I hate to brake the news, but over a year ago someone has attacked the United States and killed a whole bunch of people. As far as I am concerned that warrants a little vengence. I lately paid $1.74 for gas. Admitted I drive on premium, but that is expensive. Oil supply is unstable hence the high price (Europeans - don't say a word. The reason your gas is so expensive is because your governments decided to tax the shit out of you). So easy to be critical of the Big Bad Yanks. As far as I remember though the British government (poking at sonic) managed a small war in Ireland since 1916. jraf Me Jungleman! Me have large Babalui. Muff #3275

Agreed completely, and as indyz said it is probably 6 months worth of someones minimum paycheck. There is a certain gravity to what she did. I am not for unishing her cause she is a celebrity. I am for punishing her for the theft she commited. And if you want to play a celeb, then have the decency and try not to make a complete ass out of yourself jraf Me Jungleman! Me have large Babalui. I am very sorry, celebrity or not $6,000 worth of goods is a lot of money. She should be punished for theft. Do you realize how much money $6,000 is to a lot of people in this country. It is a large sum. Ms. Ryder is not a poor person. If I stole that much and get caught I would be heading for an institution. Sorry babe, you want to play, you got to pay. Same laws for everybody. By the way I shop at Saks and people who steal increase my prices - screw them! jraf Me Jungleman! Me have large Babalui. Muff #3275

Bill I believe you just shot yourself in the foot. Where would the fine Arabs do with all the oil wihtout the American money? Due to the energy needs of the United States (admitted, we waste energy like (our) money went out of style) it was the United States that developed the Middle East in the post WWII era. Now since the United States are quitly looking for alternative sources of oil, the situation in the Middle East is not so rosy. Saudi Arabia has huge economic problems, massive unemployment etc. There are currently plenty of alternative sources of oil. Venezuela, Nigeria, sadly enough Alaska and last but not least Siberia. It used to be the Evil Empire, hence our need for arab oil. Now Russia is just a troubled country and unwillingly finding out that it's national interests might not be far away from those of the US. Without American money the Arabs will be very unhappy indeed. Without Arab oil, we probably can survive for a good period of time, till they come to ask for the money. Remember this song: Money makes the world go roung... jraf Me Jungleman! Me have large Babalui. Muff #3275

I know, I know I am just about to become the least popular person on DZ.com, but since I voted for the guy I might as well. There was an Irish guy last week in Orlando who in front of a bar was making nasty fun of the dumb Americans. So in lack of better argument I pulled up ti him in my fully decked out Land Rover Discovery II and told him: It's American money that bought this fine Ford product What can I say, I am not very sofisticated and like to use ex parte arguments. jraf Me Jungleman! Mein Haase I was thinking of some issues of strategic consequences. 1. Middle east - the Congress will probably be more firm with Israel. With all due respect, we have (yes we, you and I and all of us paying taxes in the US) subsidizing Israel for ever (as loong as they exist) The child gets his allowance - the child should obey the parent! We need tham as a counterbalance to other interests but not as a menace to the world! 2. Strategic direction of the economy - at this point in time unanimity of vote is quite important 3. Foreign policy overall - as Bismarck used to say "at war a stupid decision is better than no decision" The US might want to start showing some direction and firmness I disagree with plenty of issues the Congress and the Administration have raised. By now means am a a person gloryfying the one or the other side. It is just that given the choice, I have made mine

You deceiving bastardYou made appointments both in Atlanta and in ZHills. What are you sitting Bull Two Face or what. We were worried (NOT) As to the weapon of choice, lets see: 1. 5906 S&W, my best friend taped under my bed. 2. Close quarter combat - hand grenades, I just love hand grenades. Once found a box of WWII German anti tank grenades (the ones with a wood handle containing a chemical fuse and a big can at it's end) while prospecting a bunker complex in Europe. We decided to try them out and we attacked a cow in a pasture near by. Whoooooow. The cow basically vaporized (to my defense I must say I was a teenager then, of course I havent changed much since). We had to run, but the police report stated that the cow must have stepped on a left over anti tank mine 3. Now to what you guys propose - YES in many a bar fight I was known to growl, scream and bite, poke at peoples eyes with my fingers etc. etc. As a matter of fact since I am rabid (I assume at least) I might be more effective with my barking and biting than you guys jraf Me Jungleman!
