Sounds like you'll be fine. I've seen meningitis hit a number of my friends and family, thankfully none of them have died (though my cousin was close). It's not pleasant, my thoughts are with you.

I disagree with conscription in general. If there is a demonstrated need for a swelling of the Armed Forces in my country (like an imminent invasion) then it would be enough for the government to just ask for volunteers. A conscript army is also less professional and effective than a standing army where the backbone have been serving for a long time, making a career of it. If called though, I'll go.

Thats so weird, thats exactly how I met the girl Im with now (I get really bad memory loss if I even smell booze, and she had a complicated Welsh name). She wasn't impressed at the time, but we bumped into eachother the next week at the same place, had a good laugh about it and introduced ourselves properly. -

We did rule our whole island, then we spread our culture and language oppressively over the other nations of Britain, before allowing them to "run themselves" in the manner we saw fit. True democracy in action!!! edit: Sorry, that was meant for Kennedy's remark!

Olympic skydiving, thats a cool idea... Hell they've got rhythmic gymnastics and stuff like that, so why not?

As much as it pains me to say it, our society needs people to study the arts. Arts are a vital part of our culture, and we can't let them die out. On the other hand, I've met arts students.
