We jumped at Hinton. Its a bit of a distance, but its a good location for most of the club during the holidays, and we got a great deal off them for the RAPS course. Im going to send off the BCPA affiliation forms ASAP so we can make it to the next events.

I just started a club at Aberyswyth uni, and just got back from our first weekend trip! I only started the proceedings around January, but now we have a pretty active social schedule, plenty of training and trips planned etc... The only downside is that we couldn't get uni transport, or any funding until next year, as we started too late in the academic year. But we should have a bit more leverage with the union then as we have loads of members (admittedly, most probably wont jump, but around half will by the end of the academic year) and by then we will have been around for a while too. I've also found that most of those who jumped want to meet up at the DZ during the holidays for a bit of a get together and a few jumps. Most of the members don't have the money for a RAPS course right now, but theres masses booked for courses at the start of next term when the loan payments come in, so you should aim to take advantage of these times as well!

I just ahd one of the best weekends in living memory! It started a day early, on Thursday, when I went to stay at a friends house and we all went to see Reel Big Fish and Goldfinger! Easily the best gig Ive ever been to. As soon as I got back home on Friday I was off to the DZ for the weekend with my newly formed skydiving club, all going for their first jump! Friday night was interesting, trying to put up a tent in the pitch black, in the snow, but everyone got to sleep eventually! Saturday dawned, and the weather was pretty crap. But, lo and behold, the wind died down just in time for all the members to get their first jump, and I managed to jump for the first time since September. All in all, a great start for the club! Sorry if this bores you, but I'm pretty stoked right now!

True. Currently, all the members in our club are going through the Static Line system. Its the only realistic option for most of them.

Theres a cool article you can download from the BCPA site which ahs some great suggestions for stuff like this. www.bcpa.org.uk I just started the skydiving club at my uni, and so far we got a fair number of people who actually want to progress in the sport, not just do one jump and never return! You need to emphasise how much better value it is to keep at it then to do just the one jump, keep an active club social schedule (weekly piss-ups, parties etc. etc.) and incentives to get an A license.

I had a novel experience today. A cop just stopped their car and asked me to take part in an ID parade this evening. I get £10 for 15mins work. I've never done one before, so I was wondering if anyone else has (UK especially), what it was like, what you had to do etc...

How do you know that one or more of these Gods doesn't exist? Can you conclusively prove so? I can't. I also can't conclusively prove that there is a God. I believe I'll find out when I die, unless some solid proof turns up either way beforehand. So I guess Im Agnostic. If there is a God, I hope he doesn't hate Agnostics...
