fudd replied to RkyMtnHigh's topic in The Bonfire
Sure, I'm great at giving, but I need one too . There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't. -

Here in Norway all smoking indoors became illegal from 1st june 2004. A lot of people expected a lot of pubs, resturants, bars and nightclubs would go bancrupt. Guess what, sales have gone up. More people are going out, and they are buying more booze and beer. More people are comming to resturants to eat. The violent uprises and illegal pubs have not arised either. After the ban came in place, a majority of smokers now support the ban. There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

Tired of extensive security checks? Does metal detector make your terrorist job a hazzel? Don't worry come to Norway. We can not only offer low or no security on domestic flights. We will even provide you with axes in flight. http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/europe/09/29/plane.axe.attack.ap/index.html There are only 10 types of people in the world. Oversimplyfied....what make a dog behave badly? For a child I believe it's the society around the child. The closer relationship to the child, the stronger the influence. Every child will behave bad some times. Role models and upbringing will affect how the child as an induvidual feels about his or hers actions. There are only 10 types of people in the world. Should U.N. observers be sendt to monitor the 2004 presidential election?
fudd replied to fudd's topic in Speakers Corner
It's not that the U.N. would organize the election. They would monitor that it's a fair election process. I don't get why this is a bad thing. If the U.N. wants to monitor a Norwegian election they are welcome. I stongly doubt that they would meet much resistance. There are only 10 types of people in the world. "Compressed Cabin" theory is not based on PHYSICS.
fudd replied to diverdriver's topic in Safety and Training
It's not only to protect you from becomming a missile. It's to protect everybody from becomming a misile. If two people don't wear them, then the person behind them will be hit by two bodies. The idea is to secure the cargo to as many points as possible. Also I imagine that if the plane gets in trouble and rolls, enter a dive or simular, it will be a lot easier for the pilot to gain control of the plane without five skydivers in the cockpit.... Onheading is down at the moment, but you could try to hook up with some locals through the forum at http://www.offheading.com/. You could also leave a message in the "ledig plass" forum at forum.snart.com That forum is dedicated to skydivers needing a ride somewhere in Norway. If not the suggestion from Tom sounds like a good way too... There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

Got money to throw away? Don't care how your canopy lands?
fudd replied to diablopilot's topic in Gear and Rigging
It's also possible to take out the twists under canopy. Just look out for traffic. Anyway, it takes less than a minute to do it on the ground. Why not do it when you pack and are not in a rush? For many people I think it's because they use a packer. Packer rarely care to take out the twists....(but if you tip well they might). There are only 10 types of people in the world. Demo jumped a PDR-143 reserve for some jumps. Fun canopy to fly, and easy to land. Back at work today. Next jump will be in 14 days....now it's time to use work hours to post whore here on dz.com There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

The manual says to do nothing with the nose, but I found mine to open more onheading if I fold the four and four cells once towards the center cell and leave the center cell open. I pull the slider out more infront of the nose. Apart from that I do a standar pro pack. No line twists for the last 180 jumps. Route the lines from the risers towards the bottom of the container and not against the reserve tray so they can snag and spin the bag. Do your hornet have the large slider? I would have loved to come, but I'm stuck at work in Norway....at the DZ I'll try to come next time...sounds like you had a blast

It's always a good idea to use something that has been tested and proven good. The reason I ask is that I already have it, and have used it a little bit at work. It's bought through Xerox, and they stick a product ID label on it that says silicon spray. However I can't find anything on the chemsearch homepage about what it really contains. The main purpose for it at work is glas plates on copiers and scanners with document feeders which drages the paper over the glass plate. It keeps the glass plate clean and free of static electrisity. I've started using it on my monitor, and it works good for that purpose. Doesn't get dirty as fast. It says it is safe for plastic and a bunch of other materials, but when it comes to skydiving I think twice before experimenting with the lifesaving parts of my rig. I'll email chemsearch and test it on some leftover cutaway cable to check the effect before appying to any live equipment. Anyone know what the coating on cutaway cables really are? is it plastic? What kind? There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

I have a can of Chemsearch AR-19 Microscopic protective coating cleaning solution. As far as I know the coating is silicon. Anybody know if this is a good product to use on cutaway cables? I've had my hornet 170 for 180 jumps and love it to. Don't know how the resell value is for it (I think I'm the only one currently jumping a Hornet i Norway. There may be one more.) I just fold the 4 end cells once towards the middle. 1/4 the slider and pull it a little towards the front. I pro-pack. Haven't had a single linetwist the past 150 jumps and consistent openings. One or two have been a bit brisk but no real slammers.

Let see, who helped 24 members of the Bin Laden family to escape from the US back to Saudia Arabia? NY-times article here They probably didn't have any information of Osama anyway, right. Or is it just nice to be friends of the president? Why did protesters in Spain in June 2001 have signs reading "Bush Taliban" ? BBC story here Why did Taliban officials visit Texas in 1997. On a two way jump with my buddy we decide to watch each other pull. During the jump there was some confusion and I realized I had to pull before my buddy, and he allready had his hand on his hackey. We were about 3 feet apart. It never occured to me that it could be dangerous to pull so close to each other. So I rush to pull before him and get unstable! . Now my bag is comming up between my legs and the lines entangles with my rigth foot. I notice that I'm still at 10 000', so I got some time to work with it. I untangel my foot. It was pretty easy and I was calm. After clearing the lines and falling belly down again I'm thinking...hey! Why doesn't it open???? Pondering about wether or not I should cut away I notice I'm still holding my pc. I release it and it all opens fine. This is when I wake up and thinking how wierd this dream was... Hope I never have to experience a horseshoe mal, but if I do I hope I'll deal with it just as calm as in my dream... Isn't it wierd that malfunction dreams aren't nightmares!
