Ordered in April.Tomorrow I get to try it. Notice the risers and chest strap width. I'm a conservative kind of guy. Replying to: Re: Stall On Jump Run Emergency Procedure? by billvon If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea.
  14. Went thru this myself with a sabre 170. Got a demo, put like 60 jumps on it loved it.Ordered one and it tried to kill me with the openings.Answer was I was packing it wrong.Well thats the way I pack.It would be 20 good ones then bam. I currently own two Cobalt 150's.250 jumps on one and 1 on the other.Haven't been whacked yet. 19. Here is what I've come up with so far. =(D3-3)*6+6 Where D3 = exit altitude i.e. 13.5 minus 3 for 3000 deployment times 6 seconds per thousand plus 6 seconds for the first 1000 feet to accelerate. In order to make it not calculate into negative numbers on the totals I just entered 2 as exit altitude in all of the jumps not entered. I can only get the total time in tenths of a minute totals will be minutes and tenths of a minute. 20. What I wanted to do was something like this. Jump #...Exit......Time.......Previous total .........................................2:30:15 200.........13.5.......X.............2:31:27 201.........14..........X.............2:32:42 Where the only thing that I would have to enter would be the exit value.Every thing else would be a formula. Replying to: Re: Stall On Jump Run Emergency Procedure? by billvon If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea.
  21. Got a log book and a half where I haven't added up freefall time.Looking for a formula where I could just enter altitude it would calculate time Replying to: Re: Stall On Jump Run Emergency Procedure? by billvon If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea.
  22. Sunset at Lost Prairie on the 100 way cross country.Sunset normally takes about 100 seconds from the time the sun "touches the horizon" till its fully below the horizon.Under canopy its about 30 seconds. 23. I've been experimenting with that exact thing.I got a small "board camera" also called a spy camera on ebay for about $60. I mounted it on a pair of ski goggles with shoe goo. Drilled a hole thru the goggles for the wires.I have a TRV 22 video camera that I wear in a fanny pack that has been modified with leg straps to keep it secure.Feed the wires thru a small hole in my jump suit and up thru a protec to the lens.I wear a neck warmer to keep the wires from beating my neck or disconnecting. Its still a work in progress.Picture quality is ok,and sometimes the colors are off slightly but is is very snag free. For a sight I just put a small dot on the goggles with a magic marker. The lens needs a 12 volt power supply to run.Its great for just doing fun jumps.
