  1. An interesting article ***http://www.telegraph.co.uk/...04/10/22/ixhome.html*** When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca
  2. Not at all, as the firearms were not kept on the premises but at the home of the firearm owner. For full bore weapons the ranges are outside! How could an outdoor range in the middle of nowhere be the place to store weapons? When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca
  3. Hey......Come on! As you pointed out the figure above are from BEFORE the ban and surely you are not trying to claim that these drops are due to the handgun ban are you? Without taking into account the increse in the numbers of Police officers in England and Wales, the founding of NCIS, and the involvment of the Security Service in the fight against organised crime. Not to mention the massive increase in CCTV surviellance and the introduction of ASBOs to name only a few possible influencing factors. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca
  4. I agree with PJ on this one. Besides which many gun clubs don't/didn't have secure premisis with a range but would use a shared range and maybe even meet away from the range. On top of which all this idea would achive is making a lovely target for criminals wanting to illegaly procure firearms by having alot of weapons in one place. 6. ***Frankly, I don't believe the claims that islam is a peaceful religion. Not when every terrorist we've been dealing with in this 9/11 / Iraqi situation so far has been islamic. *** If the only contact I had with Catholics was IRA murders ETA car bombs and INLA killings the only knowledge of Catholic history was of the inquisition and knew only of the wealth of the Vatican and the poverty of the majority of its followers; the doctrine of non use of barrier contraception in AIDs ridden countries then I might also think Catholisism as an evil religion. Luckly I know many Catholic and have daily contact with them, luckly my countries media doesn't demonize them. If so and that was all i knew about them then maybe I'd advocate that IRA sympathisors caught should be killed by choking them using meat on a friday. ***And if the islamic world is so peaceful, why don't the hundreds of millions of them around the world seem to be of any use in helping us ferret out the evil murderers among them? I am convinced that if the majority of muslims were truly against the terrorist tactics being employed by so-called "militant extremist" muslims, the non-extremists would be handing over those among them who are terroristically hard-line about their faith, on a daily basis. And they are not. *** Turkey Afghanistan Azerbaijan Uzbekistan Kuwait Eritrea Ethiopia All of the above are either muslim countries or have Muslim majorities. What do they have in common? They are all part of GW Bush's coalition of the willing against the war on Islamic terror. A cursory inquiry at Central Command headquarters in Tampa would reveal the nature and measure of Pakistan's contribution to the coalition. These include, among other things: the completion of more than 1,500 operations along the Pakistan/Afghanistan border, deploying more than 60,000 regular and 55,000 paramilitary troops; the apprehension of 422 terrorists including several from the top echelon of al-Qaida; the provision of extensive air, land and naval facilities, including the allocation of two-thirds of Pakistani airspace for coalition operations; joint cooperation with U.S. forces in the training of the Afghan army, and a series of other measures to aid rehabilitation in Afghanistan. Pakistan is a Islamic state. THE PEOPLE THAT DID THESE THINGS ABOVE ARE MUSLIMS JEFFERY! Its happening but I guess sometimes its easier just to hold onto ones hate with your head in the sand than change your predjudices. http://www.islamfortoday.com/terrorism.htm http://www.maat.r8.org/ http://mumbai.usconsulate.gov/wwwhwashnews1140.html http://paknews.com/PrintPage.php?id=1&date1=2004-04-02&news2=top1 When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. 8. *** I understand that people get banned for misbehaving, so could someone tell me how this Jeffrey person is still here?*** I don't think he's broken any rules on this thread, why shouldn't he be here? ***We're told that less than 20% of Americans own a passport. I seriously hope that he, and his gun-loving friends, are not part of that number.*** actualy i think its only 5% that actually use them, its a pity that more Americans dont travel outside their own borders, (other than with the forces) maybe it'd be a less xenaphobic paranoid culture if they did. ***Their reasoning is simply insane, and a forum in any other part of the world would not entertain their increasingly aggressive, bile-ridden nonsense.*** actualy you may not like what they say but alot of it is true, culture has more to do with gun crime than gun ownership. Every Swiss household has firarms most of which are assault rifles yet they have a tiny amount of gun crime. ***Additionally, if I were to say that America was a stain on the world, and that it was inhabited by violent, plastic, infantile shitsacks like peacefull Jeffrey, I'd likely be banned. Of course, I wouldn't say that. He, however, can spout as much as he likes about our country, seemingly unchallenged.*** We all have our opinions, I may not agree with his or yours but I defend your right to voice them. ***There are many reasons why America would be the last place on earth that I'd live. Little Jeffrey and his toys can be added to them. Stay where you are, Jeffrey, and remember; guns don't kill people, hysterical right-wing gun-owners do.*** I'd like to see Jeffery and the other right wingers come over here to Europe. See what its like and broaden their horizons. Theres not one of them I wouldn't buy a beer. Your rant sounds alot like a personal attack to me. 17. I was born in England but don't consider myself to be English. Why? Well my Father was born in India go back far enough and they were Arab. On my Mothers side her grandparents were Scotish, Irish, Welsh and one English, go back far enough and I had ancestors that landed with William in 1066. So yes I'm British, but no I'm not English. 20. Like most true Brits I couldn't agree more about the tunnel. Demolish the damn thing, it was a nice little challenge for the engineers but really for national security its a disaster. As for the Corgis its hardly our fault if their Germanic owner feeds them saurcraut! 21. She knows I'm just kidding. Just a bit of Anglo-Geman banter. See the Brits are obsessed with the war because apart from 1966 (When we beat them again) and a few small wars we didn't really win much else in the last century. The Germans however now not only lead Europe but sit on the throne of England! When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy.
