Are you referring to Haditha(sp?)? I don't believe all of the facts are out, yet. According to the NYTimes, Zarqawi deliberately killed a 12 year old boy, and used a power drill on him. I'm no fan of Zarqawi he was a sick loon. As for Haditha its not the only incident being investigated at the moment. The day after the Haditha story broke US forces shot dead a pregnant woman on her way to the hospital to give birth as well. Civillians die during war it happens, but there can be no excusing incidents like Haditha (If it turns out to be deliberate mass murder) When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. I sure you're not implying US forces are targetting them deliberately. No, not all of them. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca

One down 30 million to go...Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi is Dead....
Skyrad replied to Amazon's topic in Speakers Corner
You make a good point. So hes dead, it won't make a blind bit of difference. There are hundreds willing to take his place and the fact that he died in a house that contained a woman and a child who were also killed by American bombs will only further the his Myth. He was a bit player and was made enemy number one due to the fact that the White house wanted to pull focus from the fact that Bin Laden had slipped the net. Would America have been so quick to drop two 500lb bombs on a house if they had intelligence that he had been found in a house in New Jersey? Of course not. Why then is it ok to do it in a neighbourhood in Iraq? Why? Because they're not white Americans. In the last five centuries, Arabs have fine tuned the art of subjugating women, but have accomplished little in the form of technological innovation. Then exported it to trailer parks all over the states When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca

Maybe tey wouldn't have needed to seeing as they invented te battery about a thousand years ago in Babylon, way before te europeans came up with the idea. Who knows maybe we'd be in a greener world? Currently only 2% of captured or killed and identified insurgents are from outside Iraq, the majority of whom are Syrian and whos clans stradle the boarder which is largely ignored by the Arabs whos clans have lived there thousands of years before the British made them up. Cool mate, black stuff eh? "Whats all our oil doing under their sand anyway?" You were right during the cold war, we did need a strong American dollar. But why now? America is in a trade deficit to the tune of half a trillion dollars. The only people who need a strong dollar now are the Americans. Now the former USSR has gone and we're seeing a strong growth pax Eurasia there really isn't the need for a strong us dollar for the rest of the world now. Americas influence is waning and its only a matter of time (and not alot of time) before China overtakes America as the world superpower. I'd say that the US dollar is also living on borrowed time, all it would take is for a panic in the markets for the dollar to drop like a dying bird. Sorry for America but I belive its inevitable now. So, whos for Euros? I'll swap you one for two of your dollars When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca

I belive that the war is already lost and its just a matter of how many more will die before we declare 'victory' and leave I feel the world is a more dangerous place for what has happened and the region is more unstable. I also think that this millitary misadventure was about trying to establish Pax Americana and in this respect has also failed and as a result may even lead to the acceleration of the fall of the dollar (which I belive is inevitable). Americas millitary (and Americas self projected moral position as the keepers of freedom and democracy) has been discredited in the eyes of the world and the myth of its strenght has been exposed as such. All in all we'd all be alot better off if it had never happened and now it has its time to pull the plug and leave. What is your view? Well, don't feel sorry for me, I'm not paranoid at all. Rather, I have a healthy, realistic outlook about life in the US. I know what potential threats there are, and as the father of 4 and husband to a disabled wife, I know it's incumbant upon me to protect them from harm. I also know that it's far more effective to protect myself and my family with a firearm rather than a bow and arrow or an axe. All of your statements only imply a degree of paranoia when you look at the situation through the glass dimly. I find it interesting that you find the US paranoid but not the Swiss. it was this bit that made me feel sorry for you (plus the follow up statement) i live in England, even though you've not mentioned the dangers you feel you face on a daily basis, i can imagine what you mean. I have none of the "realistic ideas" that you have, about my life in England, yes England has it's fair share of problems (john rich can dig up some news quotes to prove that) BUT, the examples given are a tiny minority, certainly not enough of those things happen to make me feel the need to own a gun to protect my loved ones. I feel the average opinion on guns by the average American is more of a statement of the society they live in, than the person they are And that response makes me embarrased to hear you say you are English. Shame on you, that is truely sick. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca

Are you suggesting that the TSA operatives are anything oter than honorable upright officers of the State? You should be thanking them, tose guys and girls are risking their very lives so that Americans can sleep safe in their beds. So they might not be out in Iraq fighting the bad guys but they are saving lives at home in the USA by stopping terrorists hijacking aircraft, stopping drug dealers from poisoning school kids, stopping mad A rab bombers from blowing us to kingdom come. I think its down rigt unpatriotic of you to ave a go at these heros. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Well, its looking good so far. 80% of DZ.com want to trade oil in Euros!

I belive a partial yes, for reasons of conservation. ie: Population control. Also if some big hairy german or some wanabe American dentist 'big game hunter' is willing to pay to shoot a animal in a game farm then that money can be put to good use in conservation and increasing stock in protected areas. It may sound sick but thats the world we live in. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca
