  1. Tired, thanks for the invite but am away this weekend. 2. It pisses me off. No doubt it would also suprise certain individuals to discover that I reguarly enjoy shooting (& have done since childhood) and belong to a Rifle and pistol club too. Clearly its all just to much to comprehend that one might disagree with anothers points of views without being a Commie American hater. Pathetic. 3. I'm pissed off. Just because I'm not American and I dislike many (But not all) of the current administrations foriegn policies. Because I don't belive that anyone regardless of thier motives or history should be able to walk down my road with a concealed gun and because I have always belived that the war in Iraq is illegal and wrong someone belives that I am an 'American hater'. I find this personaly offensive and a personal attack. Well here is just a few posts over the years from an 'American hater' http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=2277017;#2277017 http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1095036;search_string=America;#1095036 http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1099265;search_string=America;#1099265 http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1555282;search_string=America;#1555282 http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1684655;search_string=America;#1684655 The fact I have American family and friends obviously makes no difference. Some people make me want to puke. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca
  4. Thank you for that excellent example of what I was talking about. The subject was "celebrating victory over tyranny". Yet, you Mr. Skyrad choose instead to go off topic and point out that America wasn't the only country to win those wars. But VE and VJ day are American holidays - that's when Americans celebrate their significant contribution to those victories. It wasn't about how much was contributed by whom. But that was the direction you took because you couldn't resist an opportunity to bash America. And I'm sure that you think France could have whupped Hitler single-handedly, and likewise, the Island of Fiji could have whipped all those Japs. Dancergirl and kallend are also guilty of going off-topic in the same manner in their zeal to bash America's contribution. Three good examples of America-haters who just can't bear to say anything positive about the U.S. I think it would make their heads explode. I take that as a personal attack John. I'm no America hater and I take offence at being described as such. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. 8. WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The world increasingly fears Iran's suspected pursuit of a nuclear bomb but believes the U.S. military in Iraq remains a greater danger to Middle East stability, a survey showed on Tuesday. As Washington campaigns to highlight the threat it sees from Tehran, the good news for the United States in a Pew Research Centre poll of 17,000 people in 15 countries is that publics, particularly in the West, are worrying more about Iran. The bad news is people worldwide think the U.S. presence in Iraq is an even bigger threat and support in most countries for President George W. Bush's war on terrorism is either flat or falling. And after some signs anti-Americanism had been abating, in part because of goodwill generated by U.S. aid for victims of a late-2004 tsunami in Asia, favourable opinions of the United States have since fallen back in most countries. Widespread concern over U.S. detainee treatment in Iraq and places such as Guantanamo, is a key drag on America's overall image, according to the survey. Bush himself received the lowest marks for international leadership compared with his counterparts in Britain, Germany, France and Russia, and confidence in him has slipped in most countries -- to as low as three percent in Turkey. The survey of global attitudes by the respected research group was conducted from March 31 to May 14 in Britain, France, Germany, Spain, Russia, Indonesia, Egypt, Pakistan, Jordan, Turkey, Nigeria, Japan, India, China and the United States. With a margin of error ranging from two percent to six percent depending on the country, the poll made comparisons to similar surveys it had conducted in the last few years. Among Washington's traditional allies, Germany is the only country where more people say Iran is a bigger danger than the United States in Iraq. Otherwise, the survey made grim comparisons for the Bush administration, including that 56 percent of Spaniards, 45 percent of Russians and 31 percent of Indonesians believe the United States in Iraq is the greater threat. The poll was published after the United States shifted tactics on Iran, offering late last month to join European-led negotiations over curbing its nuclear programmes, which Iran says are for peaceful power generation. With people worldwide overwhelmingly believing Iran is seeking to build an atomic bomb, fears over the Islamic republic have tripled in some Western countries. The Muslim world is less fearful of Iran but its concerns have also risen, representing, for example, a great danger to 19 percent of Jordanians, the poll showed. http://uk.news.yahoo.com/13062006/325/world-sees-u-s-iraq-bigger-danger-iran.html I agree with the statement, and would go further to say that the US occupation not only destabilises the niddle east but is in danger of destroying te UN and returning us to te bad old days of power alliances and arms races. 9. With the IRA we had decades of experience, a common language and plenty of touts. Its a new set of rules now in an age where the Security Service is run by management stratergies and polititions have to much say in policing. its going to be a long haul. 10. Glad you feel more confident with PLF. I see people teach what they call PLFs at various DZs and it never ceases to amaze me at how poor the standards often are. I was lucky to be taught by the Army and for two days did nothing but PLFs Front Right, Front left, Left, Right, Rear Left and Rear Right. First from standing then front a chair then a small wall, a higher wall and then a decender. I'd say if it wasn't for those hours I wouldn't be here now. I've heard some PIs saying things like just go all floppy like a ball of spagetti and all sorts of crap. Practice doing proper PLFs (not saying you haven't been) if your not sure then ask someone who was/is mil and jumped mil rounds its time well invested. 16. She meets with the PM once a week for an update on matters of state. Not being privvy to the meetings its imposible to answer that question. However when former PMs (John Major & Maggie) have been asked in the past the answer has always been that the Queen never gives her political opinion. So no I don't belive she does. She does have to ratify new laws and has a veto but sould she ever try to exercise it it would most likely be the end of the monachy. 18. What do you think now Bill? he's too busy writing his script about the next ending of the world...... Maybe he is but at least he belives in something. How about you dancergirl? 19. Ok, well the Monachy generates far more revenue than it costs. As for a life of luxury, I personaly see it more like a life in a gilded cage. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca
  20. Ok, trolling aside now. Freedom of speech really is if not dead then croaking on its death bed in many countries in the western democracys. The whole sexual harrasment fear is only one example. Yes in many parts of Europe (Including the UK) it is illegal to deny the Holocaust. In schools here certain nursery ryhms are also banned ie:Bah Bah BLACK sheep. I really kid you not! Freedom of speech is a great concept but I don't belive that it exists anymore. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. 24. Freedom of speech is a myth, do you still belive in the tooth fairy as well? Try yelling bomb in an airport and see how free you feel, or go to Europe and tell the world the holocaust never happened, stand up at work and tell the woman on your left you think shes got a great butt. Freedom of speach is a joke. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca
  25. That is fairly ironic since many of western society's laws are based on the Code of Hammurabi which was written somewhere around 2500BC (if I remember correctly). So a document that is just a bit over 200 years old is outdated? It has no bearing on modern life? The Bill of Rights should be abolished then? Even though the constitution has been updated throughout the years? Side note: Isn't Monarchy kinda outdated as well? That's a whole lot of tax dollars going to keep someone who does practically nothing for the country rich and living a luxurious life. Clearly economics isn't your strong point, lesson one not everone in the world uses the dollar When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy.
