The Fort Hood Shooter Can't Dodge the Death Penalty
Skyrad replied to dmcoco84's topic in Speakers Corner
This isn't about justice its about retribution, what a total waste of time and money, whats the point of a kangaroo court just take him out and slot him and stop making a mockery of the justice system. So what about the kids? This thread is about Gay Parents
Skyrad replied to OHCHUTE's topic in Speakers Corner
I don't know how you'd measure it now as there's simply not enough kids raised by homosexuals. Sure, many kids are screwed up due to being raised by straights but we're talking percentages, per tens of thousands etc. I think Elton Johns son might ask one day: OK DADS, who is my mom? And considering peer group pressure at school I presume there could be a lot of bullying regarding having homosexual parents. Personally there's a lot of screwed up kids due to being raised by single parent and perhaps that might even exceed screwed up kids by gays. I think you're obsessing with sterotypes. Gays as you put it are just people and all people are individuals, you get good ones bad ones most are a mixture with good and bad aspects to them just like anyone else in the world. Same goes for kids and schools as well. There is no simple blanket answer to your questions. You will have crap gay parents just as you do crap straight parents, children will be a mixture of well adusted to screwed up on both sides of the metaphorical fence. Homosexual or hetrosexual orientation is really neither here nor there when it comes to what kind of a parent you will be. I have two sisters, one gay and one straight. Both got married, one to a woman and the other to a man. Both had one child. The gay sister has been married to her wife for over ten years (Yes civil partnership) and they have been together about 18-19 years now. The other sister was married for 19 years. My Gay sister is in a loving happy relationship and their child is a very happy, well adjusted and loved child. My straight sister has been cheated on for her whole marriage, her husband is poor with their child and unengaged, they are currently getting a divorce and my niece doesn't want to leave my house when she visits as she will have to go home to a one parent home. As I said previously the relationship and home that a child is born and brought up in is far more important than the sexuality of the parents. 'Should same sex couples be allowed to raise children?' Absolutely yes. Who people are and the stability of their relationship and their ability to provide a loving home is far more important than who they're attracted to. Ahmadinejad under fire for hugging Chavez's mother

Thats because you don't know about Islam. Muslims believe that Jesus accended into heaven and he will return again in the second coming just before the end of the Earth. Islam is an eschatological religion. Thanks for the clarification. I got Jesus and Jews mixed up. No no, you're getting Jews and Leprechauns mixed up. The big island is 90 miles across. Yeah, but it's 4,000 miles away. And with wind drift, rotation of the earth, etc., that's a heck of a small target. They're gonna need a GPS guidance system. programmed with the coordinates. I don't think you do. No time to post at length now, but I think you're greatly over-simplifying. I thought it was because of politics... Sorry if I got it wrong. Well, in large part it was, but it surely wasn't all Congress. A lot of it was Presidential - first LBJ & McNamara, and then Nixon & Kissinger. Some criticism is fairly directed at the military itself, too. And I disagree with those who think that the US military would have achieved "victory" left unhindered. Wish I could post at greater length now; fascinating subject; just don't have the time now. When you do have time I'd like to know what the POTUS's could have done differently which would have made a difference. Seeing as you lived through this I'd be very interested to hear your opinion on the matter Andy. Certainly not; that's China's own special turf. It's shit like that which starts mob wars. The VC won a war against the great satan with flip flops and black pj's. OK, and a few SAMs, but you get the point. China is careful what it targets banks for example are off limits, NK is unpredictable. Re: The VC, then America didn't learn a damn thing Andy, they still laughed. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Skyrad replied to regulator's topic in Speakers Corner
If North Korea carry on with their behaviour I think we might see a Chinese led regime change and maybe even a Chinese 'stabilisation force' with boots on the ground in Korea to oversea the departure of the Leader and his replacement with a more compliant chap. Its not in Chinas interests for NK to commit serious cyber attacks on the USA let alone nuclear strikes. People laughed when Bin Laden declared war on the USA in '98 and all he had was some flip flops and a cave. I think that collectively we are not as bright as our ancestors, human intelligence has passed its zenith and our reliance on immersive entertainment has removed the stimuli for development of a fertile imagination. The above factors combined with the western culture of risk aversion and a general inability to make a decision without first having a meeting to reach the lowest common denominator of consensus opinion with which one can cover ones arse has lead us to a dark age in innovation. Not until a computer is capable of imagining matched with true AI will we see innovation return to the West, the next great strides are likely to come from the up and coming BRIC nations and their neighbours, as they say necessity is the mother of invention and quite simply we have it to cushy in the West today just happily consuming away with welfare state crash nets below us. Now that said, we are living in the information age, and to make the breakthroughs in technology that we need now will take collaborative working, the arse covering culture I spoke about earlier slows progress down immensely but all the time little bricks are being created and added to the knowledge base upon which we climb upwards towards the next breakthrough. Will one person discover teleportation? Unlikely but if they do it will be because of generations of discoveries and little breakthroughs that gave them all of the required pieces. We stand upon the shoulders of giants, there is no real giants anymore but lots of little people standing on one another's shoulders eventually equates to one giant in towering achievement.
