    Possibly - problem is the kids aren't the ones who buy the food they get at home. Sure you could knock a few pounds off them in a month or two over summer and teaching them about nutrition and excercise would be good - but once they get back home they'll be on the same old diet of sugar, fat, caffeine and additives. The measures need to focus on the parents, possibly even with the prospects of punitive measures (fines, community service) for those with the fattest kids who consistently show no improvement. Good idea, but I did mention that parents of obease kids would have to attend Nutrition classes.     It would be cheaper to pay for the fat camps than for the hip replacement, knee replacements, coronary bypasses, angiograms, insulin, Ca Tx. et al After ten years working in the NHS I'm not sure its a good idea either.
