Should the BNP be allowed to voice their views on the BBC?
Skyrad replied to shropshire's topic in Speakers Corner
I agree but so long as they are trying to work within the legal framework of a democracy then they should be easy to defeat in a debate. I will be hacked off if they have a panel of self rightous halfwits who are not as bright as Griffen. For a start the picture of the Spitfire he hijacked to stand in front of was flown by a Polish pilot. Anyone with any accumen should be able to destroy his arguments easily and expose him as the hate mongerer that he is. As a Muslim darkie who grew up in London during the hight of the NF and copped shit for decades from the far right, I voted Yes. The BNP should be allowed to be represented on the BBC so long as their views expressed do not in anyway break the law. If however they make statements that incite racial hatred or incite violence, then they and the BBC should be proscecuted to the full extent of the law. We live in a democracy and so long as people abide by the law they should have full entitlements to the right that the law gives them. I don't like or agree with the BNP but support the right to freedom of speech. To many of our rights and civil liberties have been erroded, people died and still are, to give us and defend those rights. They should not be given up lightly. Funny how everyone believes themselves to be a Patriot. If that article is even slightly close to the truth it goes to show just how lost the USA has become. If the actions in the article took place the US would become an international paria over night. I don't know how likely it is but it would not suprise me if it were to happen. The amount of hatred and intollerance some people have towards their fellow citizens never ceases to amaze me (not aimed at the OP) there is also a stuborn refusal to even try and understand the other side in the firm belife that one is right simply because they believe themselves to be so. I agree that it shouldn't be routine but I do feel that it should be an option. Something needs to be done about obesity, its a ticking bomb in countries with socialised healthcare. For neoplasms, Diabetes, orthopaedic problems includng joint replacements and CV disease its a major factor. Obesity is more likely to break the NHS than any other factor. If the US wants to move to a socialised medicine model (which I support) it needs to deal with the problem of obesity. (However lets not make this a US bitch fight between Obama supporters and haters) When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Actually this was in Scotland. As for the US, it would sort out the unemployment problems and encourages building projects on mass! But joking aside, other than obesity caused by medical conditions children being seriously obese is simply the cause of physical abuse or neglaect y the parents. Why should this form of life threatening abuse be taken any less seriously than other forms of physical abuse. The state has a duty of care just as the parents have. In some cases it may just be a need for education and the opportunity for access to exercise programs. In severe cases in which that does not work then obligatory fat camps for excerise and re-education maybe the way to go. Finally forced removal from the family pending re-education and rehabilitation. failing that the children stay in foster care or homes. Seven children have been taken in to care in Scotlannd with Obesity being cited as a cause. Should children in obese families be allowed to be removed by the state to prevent abuse by negligent parents? I vote yes. http://uk.news.yahoo.com/21/20091022/tuk-seven-fat-family-children-in-care-6323e80.html When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. LMAO Thats pretty funny. Actually without China though Australia would be as screwed as everywhere else. The difference is that where as Australia sells its resources to China America just sells its country and businesses to them. Australia rocks! (and Crocs rule! Steve said so!) Reggie works in a town called Pleasantville. The kids he deals with are being shipped out of New York City. On an express train, that's about a 45 minute commute, excluding the taxi ride from the Pleasantville train station to the "school". My point is, Reggie doesn't know the neighborhoods/people these kids are growing up in. Nor will the kid or parents know these successful people. This is a great idea, and I've been considering your post since last night. How can Reggie find out the successful people who emerged from the multiple inner city neighborhoods he's dealing with? How about getting in touch with local universities and asking if they know of anyone who made something of themselves who came from a challenging background. Most universities have Allumini organisations. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca
