  1. Me too (I knew we'd end up agreeing on something one day) I applaud the direction of study When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca
  2. Eh...more quasi-science. I'm sure those brain scan images are similar to an atheist's while meditating on their own grandeur. This theology won't tell us anything about God. Maybe, but we won't know until we test our assumptions. I for one welcome serious scientific exploration into mans interaction with theology. Even if you are correct and this line of exploration doesn't reveal anything about God, it may well reveal something about humans and how we work. I know you don't underestimate the power of belief, if we can learn more about the biological effects of various states of mind then maybe we can harness the process for better positive outcomes. 3. Not just in Africa, but actually the majority of people in the world live on much less than $10,000 per year. The majority of the worlds poor live on less than 2$ a day. http://blogs.reuters.com/great-debate-uk/2009/06/04/living-on-2-a-day/ Half the population of the world (3Billion people) live on less than $2.5 a day. http://www.globalissues.org/article/26/poverty-facts-and-stats When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. 8. Is not something being missed here? A) His Winkie still works. & B) Weren't ancient Eunuchs very popular w/the women of the harems they guarded? I remember reading somewhere they were reputed to have great staying power. W/testosterone replacement therapy, this guy might end up being a happy perv... An interesting read, (if the men guarding the harems were popular its was most likely only as shopping buddys!) http://jcem.endojournals.org/cgi/content/full/84/12/4324 When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. 13. Yep! You read it correctly, Iran is summoning the UK Ambassador to carpet him over the UK policing of the recent Student Protests in London, claiming that the Students rights were violated! 16. You're right there's a disproportionate amount of negative media attention. However, if you look closer you'll find that its usually about the same group (of about 30) Islam4UK (AKA poppy burning scum); a group of extremists who are generally shunned by the vast majority of Muslims in the UK (See link below for an example of how UK Muslims are shunning extremists) Also 'good' Muslim stores either don't get written or simply don't sell papers. http://uk.news.yahoo.com/5/20101213/twl-bomb-suspect-was-thrown-out-of-uk-mo-3fd0ae9.html BTW, Regarding what we were talking about before, its interesting to note that many of Islam4UK are converts. Yet nothing is heard about the Neo Nazi English Defence League, who regularly field up to 3,000 thugs (This is who Jones wants to come and talk to) These racist thugs are smashing up Mosques and targeting innocent Muslims across the country. If you watch the video I'm about to link to remember, Muslims count for only 3% of the population of the UK, scapegoating, stereotyping and a negative press out to fill their pockets by any means fuel the hatred. http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/video/2010/may/28/english-defence-league-uncovered When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. 17. I hear that a lot from posters around here, yet Muslims only make up 3% of the 65 Million people in the country. I can't see the Queen in a Burka anytime soon.
