Cancer Chris is out there all the time and Bill has been very frequent lately. You can pretty much count on at least a 3 or 4 flock on the weekends. As soon as my ankle heals, I'll be out there regularly too. BTW we're hoping to do some nice flocking dives the weekend before the Flock 'n Dock as a warm-up! Scott

Jason, You may think you're a crusading rebel, but all that's coming across is that you enjoy pissing contests. A month ago, for a few seconds, I thought you'd grown up .. but I see now that I was mistaken. For everyones' sake, especially your own, grow up, get out, and get some experience with people other than yourself. Scott

Right on, Arlo! Who's had the most different suits in the same flock? I've been on one with 5 .. Classic, GTi, S1, S3 and S-Fly.
-
Nope .. I never make it down there. I hang out at Skydive City in Zephyrhills since it's 30 minutes from my house. Scott Bland

Scott, I'm not sure you've got the legs for a short skirt ...
-
I thought you said "outed", not "ousted" .. that's different.

Correction! The Z-Flock & Dock Wingsuit Event at Skydive City will be March 18, 19 and 20. Rob has posted information at http://baserigs.com/ , just click on "Z-Flock & Dock" Sorry for the confusion! Scott

Marco Island should be a lot of fun, although with the avgas prices down there pushing up the ticket prices and hotels being in the middle of the season it will be expensive. I won't make it but I'm sure Chris will get everyone together. Chris had battery problems on that jump, so no pics .. I've told him to get new ones before the next get-together.

That's Mike Schweringer in the tail position.

Thanks to everyone who showed up! Gunnar, Matt, Mike, Bill, Todd, Michelle, Jonathan, Ben, Larry, Darrin and everyone else .. you rock! Everyone was always game to try the next strange thing I could cook up. Carving those diamonds around the sky was sweet, but the 6 way pyramid was a high point. You should have seen Chris' face when we got down! Next time we'll move from 2-D to 3-D and back to 2-D! Chris, Rob from Morpheus and I will be organizing the WS get-together March 11-13. Look for more info here and in the Skydive City ads as it's available. I'm attaching a couple of photos .. the diamond is me, Larry, Darrin and Mike and the other is a dirt-dive shot of the 10-way wedge people. Wah-hoo! I can't wait 'till next time! Scott

Oh man that's nice. I can't wait 'till I get my CD from Rickster. Thanks, Ray!

Congrats, Ed! Don't change a thing with that hair .. why mess with perfection?

#3 in agreement. Get an experienced person to check the way you have your suit attached to your gear. Your handles should never, ever slip into your suit when properly rigged. Depending on the gear and the person you may skip the 3rd or 4th wing connector. It certainly sounds like your attachment is too high. Be careful. Be safe.

If you take your wingsuit off your rig, how will you soar like the eagles instead of falling like a stone??

2" is hard to make up without alterations. You'll probably have to maintain wood the entire dive to keep the leg wing tight. BUT, I have a friend who's 6'1" and wants a GTi bad. I'm 5'11" 200lbs and have a S1 to sell. Kismet, huh?

Cool things that happened in Deland this weekend

You loved the view .. just admit it, Ed. -
Thanks Ray for organizing the meet and dealing with all the issues. Even with Saturdays' weather I got 13 WS jumps in 3 days. Lots of big ways, 2 aircraft loads and even a multi point dive there at the very end. I know everyone learned a bunch throughout the meet .. every dive was better than the last. It was cool as we moved the more "rock-solid" folks up front and saw the core group grow (giving others a solid target). The folks in the back also learned how to better approach a large group that was trailing a significant burble. And the breakoffs ... it was like we were in different airplanes! Thanks too to all the folks who showed up (probably over 30 all together). We rock! Thanks again Ray. Great job! Scott Bland

Chris Ware and I are at Skydive City ... there's always lot's of action over at Deland. Where are you close to?

I jump an Icon and it works great. I pack the D-bag with the pin towards my feet and my Birdman openings are pretty consistant. I'd have bought it even if I wasn't an Aerodyne sponsored BMI ...
-
I'll see you flockers there!
-
I've got a new student that wants a used GTi. He's 6'2" and 190lbs. Any color will do. CAW-CAW

320+ WS jumps ... I LOVE my Aerodyne Pilot.

Damn, dude ... we rule! Her name was Sarah (from Aerodyne) ...

You're thinking of Jerry Loftis' death in 1998 at WFFC in Quincy. He was jumping his board and was playing with a ski rope with another jumper. They were intentionally spinning and got too low. Jerry had a malfunction and simply ran out of time. A very sad end to a great, great guy.

A friend of mine had a similar problem blowing seams and holes in the ass deflector. Cutting back on the hot peppers seemed to eliminate the problem.
