If things work out we'll have the following suits on hand: Birdman Firebird Birdman Phi Phoenix-Fly Prodigy Phoenix-Fly V-1 Jii-Wings GS-1 Come out and try something new! Scott
-
Make sure you've got Sept 16, 17 & 18 blocked out on your calender for Z-Flock and Dock 1.5 at Skydive City in beautiful Zephyrhills, Florida. No registration fee. We're doing a pretty casual event with a lot of pick-up flocks. I'll also be orgranizing 2 or 3 (one flat, one vertical and one mixed) larger dives each day, so there should be plenty of time to cloud jump, try a new suit, etc. There should some demo suits available from BirdMan, Phoenix-Fly and Jii-Wings .. more later! All you flockers come on down and make some jumps and drink some beer with us! Scott

Why does it always come down to one pizza manufacturer trashing another pizza manufacturer's product? Try all the pizzas and decide which one is best for you .. end of story!

From http://www.whooya.net/weekly_euph.htm Ass over teakettle is one of many variants of an expression meaning 'head over heels; topsy-turvy; in confusion'. The usual British version is ass over tip (or tit). The earliest known example of the phrase is in an 1899 book about Virginia folk exressions, which defines "ass over head" as "Head over heels; topsy-turvy." (Note that "ass over head" is a logical expression for a messed-up situation, as opposed to "head over heels," which would seem to be the natural order of things.)

Wow. You guys are lucky no-one was seriously injured or worse. Watching it reminds me of the old phrase; "ass over teakettle"

If you're having fun, it's not a wasted skydive. And I can't think of any other reason to do this stuff. Put on a wingsuit and flock, BASE, go for numbers, do aerobatics, swoop clouds, go alone or with friends ... whatever you like. It's all a BLAST! Like Matt says: "Wingsuits are like sex; I don't need a partner to have a good time" Scott

Like Tonto said, there are many suits out there that are good for first flights. I usually recomend that folks look for a used GTi (since there isn't much of a used market yet for the newer suits). Get 40 or 50 jumps on that, build your confidence and decide what you really want from your "real" suit. Then you can sell the GTi for basically what you paid for it. My $0.02 Scott

We're planning Sept 16-18 for Flock 'n Dock 1.5. Ray Dutch told me that the Deland Big-Ways will not be happening this November. So it's likely that we'll pick up the slack at Flock 'n Dock 2.0 in March '06. I've spoken with TK about getting a tailgate aircraft for for that event, and it's do-able. (Think about 60 ways from a Casa and 2 Otters!) There's lot's of planning that has to go on between now and then though. In any case I'd expect a larger event than last time! Scott

I didn't see the credit ... but, thanks! Darren, are you going to make it here for Flock n Dock 1.5? Scott
-
You know, that was my fault .. I meant to get something to the mags, but I was just so freakin' busy. Darren did a good job on this article, but a lot of the verbage looks suspiciously like the handout I made for Flock 'n Dock 1. I'll post a link to it later.

Perry, There will be plenty of cold beer there. As for the ladies .. I'll leave that up to you
-
More Late Breaking News It looks like we'll also have 2 Phi's there. It should be fun! Scott
-
Between these 2 suits your better choice would likely be the Firebird since it's targeted as more versatile and easier to fly. If you're taking pics you may find it easier to back fly than a S3 or S3S. Body type is also a factor .. if you're skin and bones you don't need a big suit to flock. On the other hand, you're obviously capable of flying an S3 if you want to. At this point though I haven't had a chance to jump a Firebird, so take my input with a grain of salt. Definitely get yourself a demo and see how you like it before you buy. Of course there are a number of other options out there ... jump as many as you can and pick your favorite or do like me and just keep buying new suits. I'm hooked. My $0.02 .. good luck! Scott
-
You need to explain what you intend to do with it .. jump it all the time? Flocking? Push hard for numbers? etc, etc, etc ...
-
FYI: Rob and Perry will be there with Phoenix-Fly demo suits. Late Breaking News: I will have at least 1 Jii-Wings GS-1 suit there (in my size). Yes, if it fits you, you can jump it. It's possible that there will be other size demo suits too. Stay tuned ... Scott

Next time I'm gonna write "HI" "ED" on my heels!

Here's a 18way mixed vertical and flat dive at the Flock and Dock in March 2005. Look close and you'll see a flat arrow. Above it is the same arrow oriented vertically.
-
Here's a 23 way from Deland last year. The dive plan was a flat diamond.
-
I guess you can wear one, but no tuxedos or evening wear please .. after all, it's casual.
-
Mark your calenders for September 16-18 for a weekend of fun flocking. It'll be a casual event ... no fees, no t-shirts, no dinner, just fun skydives! Details to follow ... Scott
-
Impressive. Now I know why you're called "Tripod".
-
OK .. pull-time isn't an issue with a Sugar Glider. But has anyone jumped the GS1 and can provide some impressions on its flight characteristics?
-
Has anyone had a chance to jump the GS1? I'd really like to hear some impressions ... forward and downward speeds, arm stress, pull difficulty .. all the usuals. The sheer size of it and the wing surface outside the legs really piques my curiosity. I'd love to try one! Scott

Odd, I didn't recognize any of his girlfriends .. and I checked all the links.
