Does anyone know where I can watch this (legally) without subscribing to HBO? I'd like to see it, but I otherwise don't have a need for HBO.

I believe she said $3K over the course of three years, but that still seems a bit high. (Though I don't know; maybe it is expensive up there?) Out of curiosity, I glanced through Georgetown's health plan: http://studentaffairs.georgetown.edu/insurance/premierplanbooklet.pdf, and it looks like there are a lot of exclusions (fertility drugs, Viagra, skydiving accidents, etc.). And the students can opt out of paying for the university's health insurance if they provide their own health insurance. Seems like they're in a pretty good situation, at a good school, with reasonably good health insurance, and likely a good career in the future. Which is more than most people in the country can say. So I just can't seem to get upset about the Georgetown students having to pay for their own contraception.

No, I didn't say that.

That doesn't make sense either. If you're preventing women (who would otherwise use birth control or possibly have an abortion) from having easy access to birth control or abortions, then the result is more of "them."

I moved from Texas to California with one cat. I put a litter box in the front floor board of my pickup, and I kept her in a carrier with a seatbelt around it in the front seat. I would stop and let her out of the carrier sometimes, to see if she wanted food or water or the litter box, but I don't think she hardly wanted any of that stuff on the drive. I stopped at a motel for one night and kept her in the room with me. I think that might have been the only time she ate/drank and used the litter box. I did give her a sedative on the first day, but I'm not sure if it helped or just made her more freaked out. She meowed loudly for pretty much the entire time that we were driving - about 24 hours total. By the end, I was near psychotic and meowing loudly in harmony with her. Good luck!

Aside from all this talk about who is a slut or not, and who wants to pay for other people's health care or not, etc....... One thing I find confusing: It seems that anyone who is strongly against abortion, that they would be strongly for any plan to reduce the number of abortions that happen. And providing free birth control to all women definitely seems like a way to reduce the number of abortions. But it seems like a lot of the people who are strongly against abortion are also against providing birth control to women, which doesn't make much sense to me.

Such a shame... "teabagging" started out as a fun thing to do in a John Waters film, and now it has become "sexual assault"???

Total speculation here, but.... He seemed like a hard-working, hard-drinking, angry, overweight person, who apparently had previous heart problems. It's sad, but I don't think it's that big of a surprise to drop dead at 43 with that kind of lifestyle.

Where did she say how much sex she is having? Most prescription birth control is going to cost the same whether you're having sex once a month or twenty times a day.
-
You know, throughout my 20's, I rarely had anything other than hospitalization insurance, and I wasn't making a whole lot of money. When I was using birth control pills, I believe it was costing about $30 a month, plus $100 or so to go to the doctor about once a year. (Fortunately, he usually gave me several months' worth of samples, so that offset the cost a little bit.) It seemed expensive, and I recall thinking this stuff (and other medical expenses) would be easier if I got a better job with good benefits. But I don't recall ever wondering why someone else wasn't supplying this stuff for me. It just didn't occur to me to think of it as something I was entitled to.

I know several people who have "couple" profiles. Both older couples who don't seem insecure at all. I think they just can't be bothered with having two separate accounts. With one account, they can have all of their pictures in one place. And if they share a computer, then they don't have to keep logging in and out of separate facebook accounts. It sounds like your sister's boyfriend might be a control freak, but that doesn't say anything about other people who choose to have a couple account.

People for the Entire Termination of Animals

No less dead, but the Courts might have something to say about stabbing prisoners to death as capital punishment. Something about "cruel and unusual punishment," I believe. -

Surely no one was silly enough to allow Remster to vote in this country!(???) -

"You need to bring a gun that has a silencer on it and that can be easily concealed in your pants pocket or coat. ... " Now wait a minute, a true liberal wouldn't have been asking someone to bring a gun. Taking everyone's guns away is much higher on the liberal agenda than protecting animals. -

"Ethical" treatment of animals does not necessarily exclude euthanizing them. -
I read an article about her this morning, and I was impressed by her bravery and sense of duty. I'm glad that you shared your personal account of knowing her and her family. Sorry to hear of the loss. It sounds like she was a remarkable person.

That took me a second to even realize it's a dog. I thought it was a fuzzy stuffed penis. Me too!

Yep, I remember the big lab surprise when it turned out that the drug that killed Amy Winehouse was alcohol. The folks who had been on their high horses talking about "druggies" just sort of disappeared when it turned out to be the world's favorite drug that killed her. (Actually, it was no big surprise, seeing as alcohol is the drug that kills far more people than any other drug.)
-
Oh, OK. From what I've read, it sounds like it was likely a combination of alcohol and prescription drugs, but of course I don't know.
-
Which facts are you referring to?
-
OK, I should have known better than to give you a serious answer. (Or to make a serious post in SC at all.)
-
well, was their struggle heroic? It's sort of a personal thing and not really my place to judge. But many people who have overcome alcohol/drug addiction have said it's the hardest thing they've ever done (and some of these people have some pretty impressive achievements in their lives). But, regarding Whitney, I don't think she was being honored for her personal struggles. She was being honored as an artist, and whether one likes her particular music or not, I think most of us can agree that art/music has a huge impact on people's lives.

There was a thread in the bonfire for her that was at least a little bit nicer than this one: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4272383#4272383 I wasn't a fan, so I wasn't affected by her death. But, having known a lot of people who have had problems with alcohol and other drugs, I always hate to see another person die that way.

Any particular show? Hulu.com has a lot of stuff, and a lot of the networks have their shows online.

You think he'd at least go with tinted windows . . .

And you had nothing to do with creating that slogan, eh? Oh, and I looked up the answer to my other question; Portland stole it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keep_Portland_Weird Those weird, thieving bastards.
