I'm going to the movies with a friend this afternoon and trying to decide what to see. She mentioned "The Phantom of the Opera" and "Finding Neverland"... and I'm interested in "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou"... For anyone who has seen any of these, what did you think? There's also an interesting movie showing called "Beyond Vanilla" but I don't think she'll be interested in that one. (And I was surprised to see anything like that showing out here! We usually only get the mainstream stuff.)

Wow, I don't think it's ever once even crossed my mind to use my FOOT to flush a toilet... and yet somehow I am still alive and healthy. (Now, maybe if I had to use that toilet from "Trainspotting" , god forbid...) Oh, and I do kiss my cat as well... and judging from where his mouth has been - it's probably a far worse thing to do than using my hand to flush a public toilet.

Yeah, I guess I do that sometimes in this and other forums too (especially when I start to post something that might be too personal, or something that might be offensive to someone)... but more often in SC because I know it will usually turn into an argument. It would be nice if we could have light-hearted and civil debates in SC, but it rarely turns out that way.

It's working... It's just that we've all been PM'ing him the pictures because we don't want to post them on a public forum.

That's so funny... I just did that. Well, I didn't quite write a two-page essay and wasn't actually pissed about anything... But I did see one post where I thought the person was so unbelievably incorrect that I felt the need to set them straight... So I did spend a bit of time writing a reply, only to delete it because I don't feel like getting into a pointless argument... And after deleting it, I immediately came to the Bonfire instead (and saw this thread).

Do you start to feel sleepy, or do you just suddenly fall asleep with no warning? Do the medications help? Just curious... I never saw a doctor about it when I was having that problem... But if I really was having narcolepsy then it did go away (so maybe it's not always a lifelong problem?)...

Now that you mention it, I did start jumping when I was 19 - and still having that problem... but I don't recall ever once feeling sleepy in the air. Hey, maybe skydiving is was cured it!

Yeah, I've been looking at the news too... lots of bad stuff going on from the rain. Guess I'm getting off easy in the area I live in...

I had a problem with it when I was a teenager, though I'm not sure if it was true narcolepsy... because I quickly learned to recognize when it was about to happen and take action to prevent myself from being injured (pulling the car off the road, sitting down if I was standing, etc.). I had pretty severe insomnia during the same time as well, often going all night without sleeping at all, so I think that's why I would have the sudden sleep attacks during the day. Basically I would get a sudden sleepy feeling and would pass out within a couple minutes - usually only for about 30 seconds and then I would wake up and feel fine. I had one auto accident because of this (luckily a minor one) and I learned from that to pull the car over immediately the instant I felt sleepy. Driving was particularly bad because I usually couldn't even make a 20-minute drive without having to pull the car over at least once. I fell out of my chair at school a few times because of it, but that was just embarassing. Somehow it just went away when I hit my early 20's... though I've continued to have problems with insomnia and other sleep disturbances (maybe not quite as bad as during that time).

It's supposed to be amazing. Let me know if you head there, I'm dying to go as well. I've seen it, and I'd say to get your bums downtown for the exhibit. It's so worth it! Everyone who has been seems to think the same thing (though I'm getting mixed reviews on the IMAX movie that goes with it???)... It ends on Jan.23rd, so we've gotta go soon... I hate driving in LA, but are there any days that are less bad than others? I'm thinking maybe Thursday this week since the rain is supposed to stop by then... or are weekends better? Do you want to go again? And FRENCHY: What day is good for you?

I don't know... I'm doing laundry (which will probably be an all day thing)... No other cleaning to do because the house is clean (which is highly unusual!)... Well, actually I could clean out my messy closets or cabinets, but that just seems so pointless. Tons of yardwork that needs doing, but the rain is a good excuse to avoid that. I actually have a whole week or so off until school starts on the 20th, so it feels weird going from a hectic schedule to having pretty much nothing to do. (Work has been slow lately, and I really can't work at all when it's raining.) I was thinking of trying to do productive things during that time, but then I thought "screw it" - I'm gonna enjoy my time off because it's about to get really hectic again. I don't have a lot of money to spend right now (since work is slow), but if you think of anything fun to do, let me know... I'm thinking I should try to be somewhat social in the next week since school seems to take away any time for having a social life. Oh, and the one thing I really do want to do before school starts is to go to that "Body Worlds" exhibit in LA... so if anyone else is interested, PM me or something...
