  2. Wow, he does sing good... and I must say that he looks pretty hot in a dress too.

Do you have a pic of the tattoo that she did? I like that show. I'll try to remember to watch the episode that you're in.
  4. You forgot one of the best ones: I'll fly away, O Glory, I'll fly away. When I die, Hallelujah, bye and bye, I'll fly away...
  5. I wouldn't necessarily say that agnostics haven't finished their analysis of whether god exists. I think many of them have come to the conclusion that they simply cannot know whether god exists or not, and that is where they stand.
  6. Ah, you might want to write to the publishers of the American Heritage and Merriam-Webster's dictionaries and inform them that their definitions of atheism are wrong. But if you say that your atheism is not based on faith, that's fine with me. I don't really care whether my none-of-the-abovism is based on faith, and I'm frustrated with the limitations of all these silly words anyway.
  7. Well, God told me that is my purpose in life. Hmm, wait... God is the one with the red pointy tail and horns, isn't he??? Or have I been listening to the wrong dude all along???
  8. No. It’s not. It drives me nuts whenever I hear someone refer to atheism as a “faith”, or even as a "belief". Theism is a belief in something based upon faith. Atheism is merely an absence of that. It is not a form of belief; it is an absence of a certain kind of belief. Nothing more. Atheism is defined as the disbelief in the existence of God, which is the same thing as belief in the non-existence of God. And that belief is not based on material evidence; therefore, it is faith.
  9. Yes. I don't really see anything wrong with coveting my neighbor's male slave.
  10. I agree that atheism is a matter of faith, but then I think I've decided to stop calling myself an atheist. I've always used the word because - according to the dictionary definition - it is the closest word to describe my religious beliefs (disbelief in the existence of God). But too many people read so much more into the word, so I've decided to start calling myself a "none of the above." ("Agnostic" doesn't really describe me either.)
  11. I don't think it has much to do with the city. I know plenty of city folk who like to argue about this here religion stuff. Apparently you have time to argue about this particular topic, perhaps because it interests you for whatever reason. And, having given more thought to your original question, I realize that the simple answer to why I like to argue with Christians... is that I am a masochist.
  12. Is that really a plain and simple fact? Hmm, sounds like you're arguing about it.
  13. That doesn't make any sense. It makes sense to me. I live on a planet with billions of other people, and I like to hear with those people have to say, whether they agree with me or not. I find it interesting to hear opinions that are different from my own - not just about religion, but about everything. If you're not interested, then don't ask and don't listen.
  14. Well, good luck with that. But making Christian-bashing posts in SC probably won't help you with any of those things. Personally, I like to know what others believe and why - that's why I read and participate in some of the religion threads.
  15. God farted, of course, as you can see here. It was the lighting of the fart that caused the Big Bang.
  16. Great, you have corrupted my innocent little Stevie. Or should I blame the Brothers Gibb?
  17. Yet if they tell you that they're putting themselves through college then you think it's just a big lie?
  18. Well I'm a broke student, ya know... But if you work it, then maybe I'll give you five dollars.
  19. I'm sorry, Remi... I'll stick a dollar in your g-string the next time I see you.
  20. Yeah, especially if it's a hairy Canadian stripper.
  21. If you're referring to the theological type of sin (which I assume you are, since you mention atheists and agnostics), then one would need to believe in God before they could believe in sin. So no, I don't believe in that type of sin. Now if you're just referring to sin as in doing something wrong, then sure, I believe in that. But "wrong" can be subjective.
  22. Well, it would suck to be you if you were the .08 driver in that situation. So don't drive after drinking and you won't ever be the .08 driver in that situation. Though I do agree that it's unfair to place the entire blame on the drunk driver if it was the other person that ran a red light.
  23. Or maybe people go to church because it's one of the few places they can share their religious beliefs without pissing other people off. Actually, I'm sure there are many different reasons why people go to church... Personally, I go to church sometimes because I like the music and the people, and it's a pleasant way to spend my Sunday morning. But it's a UU church, and I don't think I've ever heard the word "god" mentioned there.
