Why Has This School Not Been Shut Down?! F*cking Sick
Shotgun replied to ACMESkydiver's topic in Speakers Corner
Well, this is obviously a case of penis envy. Even though I don't know what penis envy has to do with women who like to be spanked as adults, I'm sure Freud could tell us if he was here. -

Human psychology is a funny thing - you might be more correct than you know. I wouldn't be surprised. We end up with all sorts of odd thinking that stems from childhood. -
I think you ladies now have a good place to shop . . .

This one is kinda cool. And this will be perfect for sailing on our new boat. And this one would be good to have in case I ever run into a big bad wolf. -
Fair enough. That's ok. You can make up for it by standing still while we all throw rocks at you.

Why Has This School Not Been Shut Down?! F*cking Sick

Oh, and now I'm getting this funny image of a 30-year-old who is still afraid of crossing a busy street because he might get spanked by his mom. (Hey, that's how he was taught to have his own sense of judgment). -

This sounds like your own definition for hitting. A dictionary might say something like "To come into contact with forcefully; strike," which is what spanking is. I don't want my child learning their own sense of judgment around a busy street where the outcome might be fatal. Hitting them before they get into the street isn't going to teach them anything; getting hit by a car would teach them that streets are dangerous, but I don't really want that, so restraint is better in this situation (and it's for protection, not for teaching). -

Well technically, spanking a child IS "hitting a child," but in a specific location (the buttocks). If it makes someone feel better to think they "spanked" their child rather than "hit" their child, oh well, but really either word is correct. I don't think I would ever use this form of punishment, but I am not so appalled by it that I feel the need to tell other people not to do it (as long as it doesn't escalate to the point of "beating," but there is a fine line there in some cases). And I'm not passing judgment on those who do spank their children; I'm just calling it what it is and saying that I don't think I would do it. And again, I don't get the whole "spanking to keep them from running into the street" thing. If they've run into a busy street and been hit by a car, it's too late to spank them. If you spank them for running into a non-busy street, they're not going to translate that into not running into some other (busy) street (and if they're old enough to make that connection, then they're old enough to understand the danger of running into any street). Prevention by restraint makes a lot more sense than spanking when dealing with a dangerous situation for your child. But that's just me . . . Oh, and I wouldn't pierce my baby's ears either... but I might get a cool "Mom" tattoo on his arm. -
Maybe Tae hoon has discovered that looking for used beds on Craigslist is a good way to meet chicks.

I voted yes, but I am far from being infatuated with $. Let's see, the #1 reason why I voted yes was... well, because it's a silly question in the Bonfire that I'm never going to have to give a serious thought to in "real life", so why not vote yes? And yeah, the gold thing has always boggled my mind too. I just don't understand the value of it. You can't eat it, you can't wear it (in any sort of functional sense), it's not a practical material to build a shelter out of, it doesn't even provide a means of entertainment (or at least not one that I understand), etc., etc.... Yet throughout history, people treat it as the most valuable thing on this planet. Doesn't make sense to me...

I was living in Midland when that happened. Wow, was that really 20 years ago? http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071017/ap_on_re_us/baby_jessica20th_anniversary

Why Has This School Not Been Shut Down?! F*cking Sick
Shotgun replied to ACMESkydiver's topic in Speakers Corner
From what I have read, they only use shocks on children with severely disturbed behavior, and only after a long period of trying positive reinforcement first. (I think I read 10-11 months.) Now I don't know enough about your kids' behavior, but I get the impression they are not in the category of children who would be getting such treatment. Anyhow, I'm sorry to hear that you are having to deal with such a difficult situation, but it sounds like you're a great mom. -

I read some of the "School of Shock" article, but it seems to be written in (what sounds like) a biased and exaggerated way, so I can't take it seriously. I did find this article, which seems a bit more balanced. I have a TENS unit that can deliver a pretty strong jolt (stronger, I believe, than what they are using on the children). It hurts, but the pain goes away pretty quickly, and I wouldn't compare it to a bee sting (maybe the initial sting, but it doesn't have the same lasting effect). So, I don't know... I still don't see much difference in spanking vs. using shocks to change a child's behavior. -
It makes no difference to me whether it's an innocent virgin or a prostitute who's slept with thousands of men. Rape is rape. So if I agree to have sex with someone, and then he forces me at gunpoint to have sex with his buddies too, then that's ok since my intention was "to get banged" in the first place?

I think that anti-bacterial lotions (soaps, etc.) are part of the reason we're seeing an increase in stuff like MRSA.

Oh, and this strikes me as funny: Since chugging booze is not exactly taking care of oneself. (Hmm, or is it???)
-
Good point. ill make the change Yeah, but without the () since you can't really have just one harem girl.
-
What's hilarious about a woman getting raped? I don't see any logic in the judge's decision.

I don't have any accessories, other than the basic pads. But some of those things look pretty cool.

Hey, that looks just like the thing that's sitting in the drawer next to me. The audio settings are cool because they pulse in response to music (or any other sounds).

Why Has This School Not Been Shut Down?! F*cking Sick

If it's not possible to keep them away from a busy street, then either holding onto them or using a child leash would be more effective (and less harmful) than spanking them, in my opinion. -

Until your child is old enough to understand the dangers of running into a busy street, it's probably best to not let them run freely anywhere near a busy street. It's not going to do much good to spank them after they've been hit by a car. -
Here is the polite response I got for asking that question before: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=2858273#2858273

Nope I can justify skydiving, thats all me, I do it for me and no one else. But sending electricity thru my body just for the pure amusement of the drunk on-lookers...I'll pass.... I suspect that most people do it to amuse themselves, not for the drunk on-lookers.

Why Has This School Not Been Shut Down?! F*cking Sick
Shotgun replied to ACMESkydiver's topic in Speakers Corner
It's illegal here in Washington. (I personally disagree with that, but moving on). Now wait a minute... Why would you think it's ok to hit children, but not ok to give them an electric shock? Personally, I would not allow my own child to be hit by me or anyone else, and I wouldn't subject them to the treatment at this school either. But if I'm going to say that this school should be shut down for using electric shock to change behavior, then I'm going to say that spanking should be illegal too, because I see both methods as being about the same. (And I think that your comparing the shocks to being hit in the face with a belt is exaggerated; comparing it to spanking would be more accurate.) Spanking is also "a form of punishment not inflicted on serial killers or child molesters or any of the 2.2 million inmates now incarcerated in U.S. jails and prisons." Sorry, but this quote is enough from the article for me to not take it seriously. (Hmm, and actually the title "School of Shock" says enough.) I'm not defending the school either, because I don't know enough about it. But I would want information from a better source before forming much of an opinion about it. That article is obviously just going for shock value (no pun intended) rather than accurate reporting.
